Email Routing

Email routing helps you centralize communication and simplify account management for your booking channels

Written by Assistant

Managing multiple Airbnb, Vrbo, or Booking.com accounts usually means juggling multiple email addresses. Email routing lets you create a single @host.hospitable.com alias that automatically forwards every message to one or more inboxes you choose. Use it to consolidate notifications, give a client their own address, or make sure your whole team sees booking channel emails.

With email routing, you can:

  • Centralize emails from multiple channel accounts into a single inbox

  • Create new email addresses or aliases for client accounts

  • Copy several team members on booking channel notifications

How Hospitable simplifies email routing

Hospitable generates a unique @host.hospitable.com email address. Any email sent to that alias is instantly redirected to one or more inboxes you choose, without appearing forwarded. This is especially useful for property managers onboarding client accounts or hosts who want team-wide visibility of booking notifications.

You can set up as many routing aliases as you need.

Do not use the @host.hospitable.com email address as the account email address for your Hospitable account!

Using that email to sign up for Hospitable is not advised, as it may make your account less secure by sending security emails like password resets and device verification to all forwarded addresses.

This feature is especially useful for property managers who want to quickly onboard client accounts or for hosts who need team-wide visibility of booking notifications.

You can set up as many email routing emails as you'd like!

How to set up email routing

  1. Click the ⚙️Settings gear icon in the sidebar.

  2. Go to Integrations → Email Routing. You can also open it directly at my.hospitable.com/apps.

  3. Click Create a new email route.

  4. Enter the personalised part of the address you want to create (for example, JohnSmith123). Your new routing address becomes [email protected].

  5. Click Create. A new row is added to the Email Routing page for this address.

  6. In the text area under the new address, add the email(s) you want messages forwarded to. Separate multiple addresses with commas.

  7. Click Save.

Once saved, every email sent to the @host.hospitable.com alias is forwarded to the addresses you listed.

When to use email routing

  • Consolidate multiple host accounts into one inbox. Create one alias per Airbnb, Vrbo, or Booking.com account, and point them all at the same recipient email so every channel notification lands in one place.

  • Fan out notifications to a team. Create one alias and add multiple recipients so several teammates get copied on booking channel emails automatically.

  • Give a client a dedicated address. Property managers can generate a per-client alias that forwards to the client or a shared ops inbox.

To route your Hospitable account notifications (not just channel notifications) through an alias, you also need to change the login email on your booking platform or Hospitable account to that alias - see the related article "Email Routing: Changing Your Booking Platform Login Email To Route Account Emails" for that flow.
