Vrbo’s API does not allow Hospitable to read the Vrbo calendar when another property management software (otherwise known as “PMS,” such as Guesty, Lodgify, Hostfully, etc) is also being used.
If you are using a PMS on Vrbo, automated messaging and pulling in reservations will work as normal - only the features involving the calendar are affected.
PMS-connected Vrbo listings:
Will not utilize Reservation sync (the ability to block/unblock dates for a booking)
Because your PMS manages your calendar, however, if your PMS is also connected to your other platforms and a booking is made through another platform, the dates will be blocked on Vrbo by your PMS.Do not allow Hospitable to pull in any pricing or availability
Do not allow Hospitable to push pricing or availability from the Hospitable calendar, including changes made with dynamic pricing tools
Will not be updated by changes from another channel to Vrbo via Sync
May not be as accurate with events (alterations in particular), as Hospitable cannot use the calendar sync as a fallback method to discover events
We see most events, but there might be some occasional ones that we miss. This does not happen often.
May have some delays with reservation events or messages
Vrbo doesn't always provide us with immediate updates related to reservation events or messages specifically for reservations created on the PMS or edited by the PMS, as well as manually created reservations. The issue isn't between our system and the PMS, but is related to how Vrbo treats these reservations.
Disconnecting Vrbo from a PMS
If you want to disconnect your Vrbo listings from another PMS and instead use Hospitable to manage the listings, you should contact Vrbo support and ask them to remove your PMS channel connection. It may take up to two weeks for the disconnection process to be complete.
