Create a messaging rule to reply to new cancellation events!

The “New cancellation” event messaging rule is sent whenever a guest cancells a reservation on any of your platforms (including Direct).

Use this messaging rule to tell your guest that you’re sad to see them go and that you’d be happy to welcome them back anytime.

You could also use this opportunity to direct them to your Direct booking website if they decide to book again in the future. Not every platform will allow you to send that type of message, so definitely check with the booking platform to make sure you’re not in breach of any of their rules.

Note: if you set the timing of this messaging rule to a “Delay”, and you manually reply to the guest before the message is scheduled to be sent, the message will be cancelled.
