Tax Collection and Remittance by Hospitable in Alabama

State of Alabama

For bookings made through Direct Premium in the State of Alabama after April 30, 2025, Hospitable remits and files the following taxes:

  • Alabama State Lodging Taxes: a percentage of the listing price including any cleaning fee and guest fee for reservations 179 nights and shorter. For detailed information related to lodging taxes, please visit the Alabama Department of Revenue.

For bookings made through Direct Premium in the State of Alabama after November 30, 2025, Hospitable remits and files the following taxes:

  • County Lodging and Rental Taxes (collected by Alabama state): a percentage of the listing price including any cleaning fee and guest fee for reservations 179 nights and shorter. The State of Alabama administers the lodging and rental taxes for the following counties: Baldwin, Calhoun, Cherokee, Chilton, Cleburne, Chleburne-Heflin, Colbert, DeKalb, DeKalb (Fort Payne), Henry, Jackson, Lauderdale (Anderson, Florence, Killen, Lexington, St. Florian, Waterloo, Rogersville, Unincorporated), Madison, Marion, Marshall, Russell, and Talladega. For detailed information related to county lodging and rental taxes, please visit the Alabama Department of Revenue.

  • City and Municipal Lodging and Rental Taxes (collected by Alabama state): a percentage of the listing price including any cleaning fee and guest fee for reservations 179 nights and shorter. The State of Alabama administers the lodging and rental taxes for the following cities and municipalities: Evergreen. In addition to Direct Premium bookings, the taxes listed above may apply to upsell purchases made by guests through Hospitable. If an upsell is subject to an applicable tax, those taxes will be automatically collected and remitted on your behalf. Any other applicable taxes that are not listed are your responsibility to file and remit to the respective regulatory jurisdiction in accordance with state, city, and/or local laws and regulations. Hospitable will collect and pass through these taxes to you within your payout.
