Direct Premium Taxes for Hawaii

State of Hawaii

For bookings made through Direct Premium in the State of Hawaii after March 31, 2025, Hospitable remits and files the following taxes:

  • Hawaii General Excise Tax (GET): a percentage of the listing price including any cleaning fees and guest fees for all reservations, regardless of length of stay. For detailed information related to the general excise taxes, please visit the Hawaii Department of Taxation.

  • Hawaii Transient Accommodations Tax (TAT): a percentage of the listing price including any cleaning fees and guest fees for reservations 179 nights and shorter. For detailed information related to the transient accommodations taxes, please visit the Hawaii Department of Taxation.

  • County General Excise Tax (GET) Surcharge: depending on the location of the property, a county-level general excise tax surcharge may be applicable as a percentage of the listing price including any cleaning fees and guest fees for all reservations, regardless of length of stay. For detailed information related to county-level general excise tax surcharges, please visit the Hawaii Department of Taxation.

Any other applicable taxes that are not listed are your responsibility to file and remit to the respective regulatory jurisdiction in accordance with state, city, and/or local laws and regulations. Hospitable will collect and pass through these taxes to you within your payout.
