Tax Collection and Remittance by Hospitable in Wisconsin

For bookings made through Direct Premium in the State of Wisconsin after September 30, 2025, Hospitable remits and files the following taxes:

  • Wisconsin Sales Tax: a percentage of the listing price including any cleaning fees for reservations 29 nights and shorter. For detailed information related to sales taxes, please visit the State of Wisconsin Department of Revenue.

  • Local County Sales Tax: a percentage of the listing price including any cleaning fees for reservations 29 nights and shorter. For detailed information related to local county sales taxes, please visit the State of Wisconsin Department of Revenue.

For bookings made through Direct Premium in the State of Wisconsin after November 30, 2025, Hospitable remits and files the following taxes:

  • Local Exposition Taxes: a percentage of the listing price including any cleaning fees for reservations 29 nights and shorter. This includes the basic room tax and additional room tax for Milwaukee County and the City of Milwaukee. For detailed information related to local exposition taxes, please visit the State of Wisconsin Department of Revenue.

  • Premier Resort Area Tax: a percentage of the listing price including any cleaning fees for reservations 29 nights and shorter. The State of Wisconsin administers the premier resort area tax for the following jurisdictions: The Cities of Bayfield, Eagle River, Rhinelander, and Wisconsin Dells and the Villages of Ephraim, Lake Delton, Sister Bay, and Stockholm. In addition to Direct Premium bookings, the taxes listed above may apply to upsell purchases made by guests through Hospitable. If an upsell is subject to an applicable tax, those taxes will be automatically collected and remitted on your behalf. Any other applicable taxes that are not listed are your responsibility to file and remit to the respective regulatory jurisdiction in accordance with state, city, and/or local laws and regulations. Hospitable will collect and pass through these taxes to you within your payout.
