Direct Add-on: Billing and How to Cancel

This article explains how the Direct add-on is billed and how to cancel it. It uses simple steps and a clear example.

This article does not apply to Hosts on the Professional or Mogul plans, which include our Direct features at no extra cost.

How billing works

  • You pay for the Direct add-on based on what you used in the last billing cycle.

  • If any Direct sites or widgets were active at any time in the current cycle, the charge will show on your next invoice.


How to cancel the Direct add-on (Legacy users)

Turn off everything linked to Direct.

  1. Unpublish all Direct sites.

  2. On your self-hosted site in Hospitable, turn off “enable widgets.”

  3. If you added our widget code to your own website, remove that code too if you do not plan to use Direct again.

Notes:

  • If you do not remove the widget code, search on your site may still work.

  • Guests will not be able to make reservations after you disable the widgets.


Will I still be charged this cycle?

  • Yes. If any Direct sites or widgets were active during the current billing cycle, the Direct charge will appear on your next invoice.


When do charges stop?

  • The Direct add-on charge is removed starting with the billing cycle after you cancel.


Example timeline

  • Billing cycle: July 23 to August 23

  • You delete Direct sites: July 27

  • Your August 23 invoice will still include the Direct add-on

  • The next invoice (August 23 to September 23) will not include the Direct add-on


Quick checklist

✅ Unpublish all Direct sites

✅ Turn off “enable widgets” on your self-hosted site

✅ Remove widget code if you will not use Direct again

✅ Expect one more charge if you used Direct during the current cycle
