If you receive pass-through taxes with Direct Premium, you may be required to complete a quarterly tax affidavit.
This process ensures compliance with tax reporting requirements.
What Is a Tax Affidavit
A tax affidavit is a confirmation that:
Taxes were collected from guests
You (or the responsible party) will file and remit them
Hospitable requires this to maintain compliance as the Merchant of Record.
When You’ll Receive an Affidavit
You will receive an affidavit if:
You have Direct Premium bookings
Taxes are passed through to you (not remitted by Hospitable)
You will not receive one if:
Hospitable remits all taxes on your behalf
You have no applicable bookings
How the Process Works
Affidavits are issued 30 days after each quarter ends
You’ll receive a summary of collected taxes
You must review and sign the document
If you notice an error or disagree with the totals, contact support right away, before the 30-day deadline expires
To access it:
Go to Settings → Taxes → Documents
Deadline to Complete

If the affidavit is not completed on time, your payouts may be paused.

Each affidavit includes:
Total taxes paid out to you
Breakdown by tax type
Supporting transaction data
A downloadable report is also provided with:
Reservation details
Transaction dates
Tax amounts and jurisdictions
Property Managers: How to Handle the Affidavit
If you are a property manager whose owners receive payouts directly and/or are responsible for remitting their own taxes, you can still complete the affidavit on their behalf.
Hospitable sends affidavits to the primary account user. The document includes language that accounts for this scenario:
I acknowledge that taxes were collected in connection with my direct booking operations and included in payouts made to me or a related party. I understand that I, or the recipient of such funds, is responsible for determining, filing, and remitting any applicable taxes to the appropriate tax authorities, in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Signing does not mean you personally paid the taxes, only that you acknowledge the funds included those taxes and that the responsible party is aware of their obligation.
Important Things to Know
Affidavits apply only to Direct Premium
Only required for pass-through taxes
Signing confirms compliance responsibility
Missing the deadline may affect payouts
