Now in pilot. Hospitable Trust Accounting is in private pilot in Australia and the United States. To ask a question or join the pilot, email [email protected] to book a time.

Hospitable Trust Accounting connects directly to your bank, matches every transaction to your Hospitable owner statements, and keeps your ledgers and reports audit-ready.

It’s built for property managers who operate a trust account, keeping owner funds separate from their business operating account.

Sync Your Trust Account Bank Feed

Connect your trust account once, and your transactions and balance import automatically every day. The bank connection is read-only. Trust Accounting can't move money in or out of your account.

Reconcile Your Bank Transactions

Before you start, publish your owner statements in Hospitable. Trust Accounting uses your statements to work out what each owner and manager is owed. You must have a Property Manager Business type on a Mogul plan to use the Trust Accounting feature.

Each bank transaction appears next to its suggested match from your owner statement. Review the match, then record it.

  • Deposits match to the platform payout, with the reservation code, guest name and property.

    • Receipt payout issues a numbered receipt to the right owner's ledger.

  • Transfers to owners match to the amount due to the owner on their statement.

    • Record owner payout records the payment.

  • Transfers of your fees match to the amounts due to you across that period's statements.

    • Record fee transfer records the payment.

  • Anything else, like bank fees, interest or cash deposits, is recorded with Record other and a reason.

Recording a match updates your records only. It doesn't send or move any money.

Manage Your Ledgers

Every owner and property has its own trust ledger.

  • Receipts are credited to the ledger, and owner payouts and fee transfers are debited from it.

  • A ledger can't be overdrawn. You'll be asked to receipt the money before you record a payment from it.

Generate Your Reports

Your reports update as you reconcile, and you can print them, save them, or export them to Excel.

  • Trust account reconciliation: confirms your bank balance, cash book and ledger totals agree.

  • Ledger balances: lists every ledger holding money on a given date.

  • Trust ledger: shows every transaction for each owner or property.

  • Trust account cash book: lists every receipt and payment in order.

  • Receipt and payment registers: every numbered receipt and payment, including cancelled ones.

  • Month close: keeps a permanent record of the month's cash book, ledger balances and reconciliation.

State Requirements

We're rolling out Trust Accounting to meet the requirements of every US and Australian state. Rules such as how long you keep records, deposit deadlines and report formats are set for your location when you set up your account.

Trust Accounting is record-keeping software, not legal or accounting advice. Check your obligations with your regulator, accountant and/or auditor.
