If a guest causes damage during a reservation covered by Guest Damage Insurance, you can submit a claim directly through Hospitable.
Claims are submitted and tracked in Hospitable, but they are reviewed and handled by Tint, Hospitable's insurance partner. Tint determines whether a claim is covered and manages approved payouts.
Guest Damage Insurance is currently available only to US-based hosts with properties located in the United States. Claims can only be submitted for reservations covered by an active Guest Damage Insurance policy.
How to Submit a Guest Damage Insurance Claim
You can start a claim from the Protect section or directly from a reservation.
Option 1: Submit a claim from Protect
Go to Protect → Claims.
Click New claim.
Select the reservation associated with the damage.
Continue through the claim form.
The Claims tab under Protect in Hospitable, showing the New claim button and a list of previously submitted insurance claims.

Complete the Claim Form
1. Select the claim type
Choose the type of claim you want to submit:
Contents: Damage to eligible belongings or property.
Theft: Theft of eligible property by a guest.
Real Property: Damage that falls under real property liability coverage.
Liability: An eligible injury or liability-related incident.
Bed Bugs: A qualifying bed bug infestation.
You can select more than one claim type.
Hospitable creates a separate claim for each claim type you select. For example, selecting Contents and Liability creates two claims, which Tint reviews separately.
2. Enter the date and describe what happened
Enter the date the damage or incident occurred.
Hospitable automatically fills in the reservation's check-in date, but you can change it to another date within the reservation.
Then describe what happened, including the damage or incident you're reporting.
The incident date must fall within the covered reservation. Dates outside the reservation cannot be selected.
3. Itemize the damaged property
For each damaged item, provide:
The name or description of the item.
The amount you're claiming.
Any additional information that helps explain the damage or cost.
You can add multiple items to the claim.
Hospitable updates the total claim amount as you add items.
4. Confirm your contact information
Hospitable pre-fills your contact details using your host information.
Review the details carefully, especially your email address.
Tint uses this email address for claim correspondence and approved payout instructions.
Make sure the email address is correct and accessible before submitting your claim. Tint will send the payout link to this address if your claim is approved.
5. Upload supporting evidence
Upload photos and other evidence that supports your claim.
Depending on the incident, useful evidence may include:
Photos showing the damage.
Receipts or proof of purchase.
Repair or replacement estimates.
Documentation explaining the circumstances of the incident.
A police report for a theft claim.
Guest theft claims require a police report. Tint may request additional evidence or documentation while reviewing any claim.
6. Review and submit
Review the claim summary, including:
The selected claim type.
The incident details.
The damaged items and amounts.
Your contact information.
The uploaded evidence.
Submit the claim when the information is complete.
After submission, the claim appears under Protect → Claims with its current status.
Is There a Deadline to Submit a Claim?
Guest Damage Insurance does not have a fixed claim submission deadline after checkout.
You can submit a claim after the reservation ends without a specified maximum filing window.
However, submitting your claim as soon as possible is recommended so you can provide timely evidence and details about the incident.
Although there is no fixed claim filing deadline, Tint may ask for additional information if a claim is submitted long after the reservation. Claims remain subject to the policy's coverage requirements.
How to Track a Claim
