Each booking channel has its own process to verify a guest's identity. It can be through (but is not limited to) the following:
Legal name
Address
Government ID
Recent photo
Phone number or email
You can check the status of the guest’s verification in the guest’s conversation thread, right below their very first message to you. This includes the status of their identity verification.
Our system will indicate whether or not they are verified, but it does not specify the verification method used.
Note: this feature is not supported for Booking.com guests.
Direct
For Direct Premium, all guests go through a guest verification. The guest verification can be viewed by clicking the status under Guest Portal.
Airbnb

Vrbo
Guests will be marked as verified if their email or phone numbers are verified.
For all bookings that outside Direct Premium, Adhoc Guest Verification can be requested as an extra layer of protection for guests. More details can be found here.
