What is the fallback language?
The fallback language is a backup language used to generate automatic messages, if all other language detection fails.
You can read more about language detection here.
There are two scenarios where the Fallback Language is needed:
Guest contacts you using a certain language, but you don't have the message templates available in that language.
The conversation with your guest doesn't start with the message sent by the guest and we couldn't detect the language the guest was viewing your listing in, on the booking platform.
To cover these scenarios, we use your Fallback Language. It allows you to configure a backup language.
How do I change the fallback language?
By default, the fallback language is set to English.
To change this, go to:
Hospitable > Settings.
Under Preferences, select Guest Experience
Click on the dropdown list next to Fallback language and click on the language of your choice.
Click on the Save changes.
Please make sure that you have message templates available in the Fallback Language.
