Getting Started with Exports

The Exports tab in Metrics gives you access to downloadable reports based on your reservation and financial data. It functions as a single, filterable dashboard where you can choose from different export types, generate CSV files, and optionally share access to your reports through a secure link.

Unlike customizable dashboards in Metrics, the Exports dashboard is designed specifically for structured, downloadable reports. You can filter the data before exporting, save a view, choose the type of report you want, and download or share it as needed.

Exports is useful when you need:

  • A CSV version of your data

  • A consistent report format

  • Something you can share with an accountant, owner, or team member

  • A structured view of your booking, financial, or operational data

Customizing and Saving Dashboard Views

To personalize how data is displayed, you can:

  1. Apply specific filter settings (e.g., for properties, dates, tags).

  2. Click the "Save" option to save your chosen configuration for future reports. This ensures that you don’t need to reapply filters every time you use the dashboard.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Report Delivery Delays

If you don’t receive a metrics report after requesting one:

  • Check your email’s spam or junk folders.

  • Verify email settings to ensure that notifications from Hospitable are not being blocked.

  • If you have followed these steps and still haven’t received the report, it may be delayed. You can request the report to be resent. Afterwards, double-check your email inbox and spam folders. If you still haven't received a report after 15 minutes, you can contact Hospitable's support for further assistance.

Report Accuracy Issues

Occasionally, discrepancies may appear in reports.

Be aware of differences in reporting logic, such as Airbnb using payout dates and Hospitable Metrics using check-in, check-out, or booked at dates, as this impacts how bookings are displayed in reports.

Understanding Revenue & Tax Reporting Discrepancies

Revenue and tax reporting discrepancies often occur due to platform-specific methodologies. Here are key considerations:

Booking.com:

  • Includes tourist taxes in the gross booking value, incorporating them into the daily rate price.

  • These taxes are excluded from the total accommodation price provided to Hospitable.

  • Hospitable does not receive financial data from Booking.com relating to VAT charged on the payout amount on Booking.com. This can result in discrepancies between the amount you get paid out by Booking.com and the payout amount you see on Hospitable.

Airbnb:

  • Similar to Booking.com, there are circumstances where Hospitable does not receive the VAT amount on the host payout from Airbnb.

Resolution Limitations

Unfortunately, these inconsistencies cannot be resolved directly within Hospitable. The platform reflects financial data from APIs exactly as received from Airbnb, Booking.com, and Vrbo. To address discrepancies, changes would need to be made at the source.

Key Takeaways for Hosts

  1. Understand that differences in revenue totals and tax inclusion arise from platform methodologies.

  2. Data displayed on Hospitable reflects what is provided by external platforms.
