Why is my VRBO account flagged as connected to another software, and how can I remove the "restricted" status?
Vrbo’s API does not allow Hospitable to read the Vrbo calendar when another property management software (PMS), such as Guesty, Lodgify, Hostfully, is also connected to your Vrbo listing.
If we detect that you are using another PMS on Vrbo, we will flag your Vrbo channel as "Calendar Restricted" on the Hospitable > Connected accounts page. You will also see this restriction banner on the single-property page.
Does any part of Hospitable still work with Vrbo if I'm using another PMS with Vrbo?
If you are using a PMS on Vrbo, Hospitable will still be able to pull in new reservations from Vrbo and manage automated messaging.
Vrbo only restricts and limits access to their calendar when you use another PMS.
PMS-connected Vrbo listings: Overview
Will not utilise Reservation sync (the ability to block/unblock dates for a booking)
Because your PMS manages your calendar, if the other PMS is also connected to your other platforms and a booking is made through another platform, the dates will be blocked on Vrbo by your PMS.Vrbo does not allow Hospitable to push pricing or availability from the Hospitable calendar to Vrbo, including changes made with dynamic pricing tools.
Dynamic pricing tools should be connected directly to Vrbo or to your other PMS if you use a PMS with Vrbo.
No syncs or pushes will be performed by Hospitable to your Vrbo listing while it is connected to a different PMS.
There may be a lack of accuracy with events (alterations in particular), as Hospitable cannot use the calendar sync as a fallback method to discover events.
We see most events, but there might be some occasional ones that we miss. We get reservation details from Vrbo, not from your other PMS! If there is a delay between the other PMS and Vrbo, then the new event will be delayed getting pulled into Hospitable.
There may be some delays with reservation events or messages.
Vrbo doesn't always provide us with immediate updates related to reservation events or messages specifically for reservations created on a different PMS or edited by the PMS. This also goes for reservations created manually on Vrbo.
Disconnecting Vrbo from a PMS
If you want to disconnect your Vrbo listings from another PMS and instead use Hospitable to manage the listings, you should contact Vrbo support and ask them to remove your PMS channel connection. It may take up to two weeks for the disconnection process to be complete.
🚨 Note: Removing a PMS connection on Vrbo means reservations handled by that PMS (payment processing) will be removed from the Vrbo calendar!
We will not be able to detect those reservations or display them on your Hospitable calendar. Those will also be removed from the Vrbo calendar. This can cause double bookings on Vrbo (between two Vrbo reservations).
Make sure to review your calendars and make manual blocks where needed!
