The “New inquiry” event messaging rule is sent whenever you get a new inquiry on Airbnb or VRBO.
Use this messaging rule to thank the guest for inquiring about your property and dates, and either inform them that you will look over their inquiry and respond, or select to “Automatically pre-approve” them.
When you select that settings option, make sure you also include a text message telling the guest you have pre-approved them.
This setting will effectively disable the “New pre-approval” messaging rule, and we will not send that message, as it is redundant.
Note: if you set the timing of this messaging rule to a “Delay”, and you manually reply to the guest before the message is scheduled to be sent, the message will be cancelled.
VRBO exception
As of June 2022, we cannot pre-approve Vrbo inquiries. If the “Automatically pre-approve inquiries” setting is enabled on the “New inquiry” messaging rule, then we will not send the “New inquiry” or the “New pre-approval” messages.
Booking.com
Messaging guests before a reservation is confirmed is only possible if your Booking.com has Pre-Reservation Messaging enabled, which is currently in beta. If you're not sure if this is enabeld or not, please contact Booking.com directly.
