The “After a new reservation” messaging rule is used to a message to your guest with a delay, after they confirmed a booking with you.

This messaging rule offers a way to have two or more messages go out to the guest when they book; one “New reservation” event message, and then this message with a delay.

Use this messaging rule to communicate information to the guest that you didn’t include in the “New reservation” event message.

This messaging rule cannot be selected to be sent out at the event when a new reservation is booked! It can only be sent with a delay. To send a message at the event, please use the New reservation event message.

Exception!

This messaging rule is only meant for messages that are relevant to the guest before their check-in!

If the scheduled send time of the message falls after the scheduled check-in time of the reservation, then this message will not be scheduled or sent to the guest.

For example, if a guest books their stay 25 minutes before your 4 PM check-in time, and the “After a new reservation” messaging rule is scheduled to be sent out 30 minutes after a new reservation is booked, then it should be sent at 4:05 PM. However, as this is after the check-in time of the reservation, the message will not be scheduled or sent to the guest.
