How to Connect an Agoda Account

How to connect your Agoda listings to Hospitable and set up messaging

Introduction

Hospitable integrates with Agoda Homes, one of the leading online travel agencies in the Asia-Pacific region. This guide walks you through connecting your existing Agoda account to Hospitable, setting up messaging, and understanding how the integration works.

⚠️ Note: Agoda Homes is not currently available in the US and some other regions. US-based hosts with hotel licenses or LLCs may be eligible — contact Agoda for details. To create an Agoda account, sign up at the Agoda YCS partner portal.


Before You Start

  • You need an existing Agoda account with live listings on Agoda.

  • Hospitable only supports single-unit properties on Agoda.

  • Your listings must already be created and live on Agoda before you can connect them to Hospitable.

  • Agoda listings cannot be created on Hospitable.


How to Connect Agoda to Hospitable

Step 1: Start the Connection Flow

Go to the self-serve Agoda connection flow in Hospitable. This will walk you through the process of connecting your Agoda listings.

After reviewing the introduction, you'll be asked to confirm your property setup type:

  • "Yes, I have a hotel-like setup" — This ends the connection process immediately. Hospitable cannot support multi-inventory listings or units at this time.

  • "No, every property has its own listing" — Select this to continue the connection flow (your listings must be set up in this way on Agoda in order for the connection to work).

Step 2: Set Hospitable as the Channel Manager

Within the connection flow, you'll be instructed to set Hospitable as the Channel Manager for the property you want to connect in Agoda YCS. This step is required because it enables Hospitable's access to your property.

  1. In Agoda Homes (or Agoda YCS), go to the property you wish to connect to Hospitable.

  2. At the top of the page, go to Rates and Availability >> Pricing .

  3. In the Channel Manager section, select Hospitable from the drop-down box.

  4. Click Save .

  5. Go back to Hospitable and click Continue

Once you've completed these steps, Hospitable will be set as your channel manager in Agoda.

You will need to do this step for each property you wish to connect to Hospitable.

Step 3: Provide Your Agoda Email and Property ID

Once the Channel Manager change has taken effect, you'll be prompted to enter:

  • Your Agoda account email address

  • Your Agoda Property ID (or property URL)

Hospitable will verify whether it can access each property:

  • Connected — Hospitable was able to access the property and will import it.

  • Not connected — Hospitable could not confirm access. Double-check that Hospitable is set as the Channel Manager in Agoda. If confirmed, Hospitable will continue checking and send you an email once the property is ready.

Once all properties show as connected, click Continue to finish the setup.


Set Up Messaging

For Hospitable to send and receive Agoda guest messages, you need to configure a special contact email in Agoda YCS. This is a manual step that must be completed for each connected property.

⚠️ Skipping the messaging setup will mean you cannot send or receive Agoda guest messages through Hospitable. Messaging will not work until all steps below are completed.

Find Your Special Contact Email

After connecting your Agoda property, Hospitable generates a unique email address for each property. You can find it in:

  • The email Hospitable sends you when you first connect the property

  • Your property's Merge & Match page in Hospitable

    • Go to Hospitable > Properties

    • Select your property

    • Click the three dots next to your Agoda listing

    • Click Show Agoda Contact Email

The email address follows this format:

{property-name}@messaging.hospitable.com

Add the Contact in Agoda YCS

There are two ways to set up the messaging contact in Agoda YCS, depending on which version of the Contacts page you see.

Option A: Legacy Contacts Page

If you see the legacy Contacts page (accessible via Settings → Contacts legacy in Agoda YCS), or by navigating directly to:

  1. Click Add contact.

  2. Enter the Hospitable special contact email address.

  3. In the Subscriptions tab, enable the necessary notification options.

  4. Save your changes.

Option B: New Contacts Page

If you see the new Agoda YCS Contacts page (accessible at Settings → Contacts or via the URL):

  1. Click Edit next to the Hospitable contact.

  2. Click the Contact category dropdown.

  3. Tick both "Reservations and post-booking" and "Customer messages" categories.

  4. Click Apply changes, then Save changes.

If you see a "view-only" page when navigating to the Contacts page, you may be on the wrong page. Try the alternative URL above, or look for Settings → Contacts legacy in the Agoda YCS menu.


If You Can't Configure the Contact

If you are unable to add or edit the contact through either version of the Contacts page, Hospitable's support team can escalate to Agoda on your behalf. Contact Hospitable support and provide:

  • Your Hospitable special contact email address

  • Your Agoda Property ID

The team will reach out to Agoda support at [email protected] to request the contact be added for you.


How the Integration Works

Once connected, Hospitable syncs the following with Agoda:

  • Calendar availability — blocked/unblocked dates, minimum stay, advance notice, availability window, and check-in/check-out restrictions

  • Pricing — rates are pushed with markups, according to your Hospitable pricing settings

  • Reservations — Agoda reservations are imported into Hospitable

  • Messaging — guest messages are routed through Hospitable's inbox (requires messaging setup above)

What Hospitable Does Not Control on Agoda

  • Hospitable cannot create new Agoda listings — listings must be created directly on Agoda first.

  • Hosts are not restricted from editing their calendar directly in Agoda YCS while Hospitable is the Channel Manager.

  • Some Agoda actions (such as accepting early check-in requests) cannot be handled via the API. In those cases, Hospitable will prompt you to visit Agoda YCS directly.


Rollout Plan

  1. [Live] Initial release — Hosts with existing Agoda accounts and live listings can connect them to Hospitable using the self-serve connection flow. Listings are imported and synced with Hospitable properties.

  2. Listings management — Agoda account creation and listing management within Hospitable are under consideration for future development.
