Adding new languages allows your guests to book and manage their stay in their preferred language, making them more likely to complete their booking and have a smooth experience. With multilingual support, you can unlock more bookings from a wider, global audience.

Supported Languages

You can currently add:

  • English (default)

  • Spanish

  • French

  • German

More languages will be available soon.

How to Add a New Language

  1. Select the language you would like to add.

  2. Once selected, Hospitable will automatically translate your content into that language. This includes:

    • Property details for all properties (e.g. descriptions, amenities, house rules)

    • Site content across all your published direct booking sites (e.g. hero header, footer, “About Us” section)

  3. The translation may take a few minutes.

  4. Once it’s ready, you can set the language to active to make it visible to guests.

Translations are currently AI-powered and not yet customizable. Manual editing is coming soon.

Setting a Default (Main) Language

The main language is the primary language of your audience. This is also the default language shown to guests visiting your direct booking site if no language detection is available.

You can set or change your main language in the same Settings > Languages page.

How Guests Experience Multilingual Sites

When a guest visits your direct booking site or guest portal:

  • We’ll detect their preferred language using their browser settings.

  • If you’ve enabled that language, the guest will view the entire experience—site, booking flow, and guest portal —in their preferred language.

  • If not, they’ll see the site in your main language.

Note: The guest's language is currently taken from their browser only. They can't manually switch languages. This feature is also coming soon.

Booking and Communication

  • The language the guest completes their booking in will be saved as their preferred language.

  • If you’ve added messaging rules or rental agreements in that language, those will be used in their communications going forward.
