To receive payouts from reservations, upsells, security deposits, or marketplace transactions, you'll need to set up a payout method.
The setup process depends on how guest payments are processed:
Hospitable Payments: Add a bank account in Hospitable.
Stripe: Add and manage your payout account directly in Stripe.
This article explains when to use each option, how to add a payout method, and how payout accounts are assigned to properties.
Before You Start
The payout method you need depends on your payment processor.
Hospitable Payments
If Hospitable processes guest payments, payouts are sent to a bank account connected in Hospitable.
This includes:
Vrbo Partner reservations using Hospitable as Merchant of Record
Direct Premium reservations using Hospitable Payments
Upsells
Security deposits
Marketplace payouts
Hospitable currently supports payout accounts located in:
United States
United Kingdom
Australia
Stripe
If you use Stripe to process guest payments:
Guest payments are processed by Stripe
Payouts are sent directly by Stripe
Bank accounts are managed in Stripe
Verification is completed through Stripe
Bank accounts added in Hospitable are only used for Hospitable-managed payouts. If you use Stripe, your payout account must be configured directly in Stripe.
Add a Bank Account for Hospitable Payments
Go to Settings → Payments & Payouts.
Select the Bank accounts tab.
Click Add bank account.

Select whether the account belongs to:
An individual
A company
Enter the required information:
Account holder name
Mobile phone number
Country of residence or business registration
Bank account nickname
Choose how the account will be used:
As your default payout account
For specific properties
For specific payout types
If applicable, select the properties that should use this account.
Review the information.
Click Save.
Assign Payout Accounts to Properties
You can use a single payout account for all properties or assign different payout accounts to specific properties.
This can be useful if:
You manage properties for multiple owners
Different properties use different bank accounts
You want payouts separated by business entity
When a payout account is assigned to a property, future payouts for that property will be sent to the selected account.

Verify Your Payout Method
After adding a bank account for Hospitable Payments, you may need to complete identity and bank account verification before payouts can be released.
Verification requirements vary depending on:
Your country
Whether the payout account belongs to an individual or business
Regulatory requirements

You can continue accepting reservations while verification is pending, but payouts may be held until verification is completed.
Using Stripe Instead
If you use Stripe to process guest payments, payouts are handled through Stripe rather than Hospitable.
You'll need to:
Connect a Stripe account.
Complete any verification requirements requested by Stripe.
Add a payout bank account in Stripe.

Stripe payout methods
Stripe verification
Stripe payout schedules
Stripe account reviews
When using Stripe, payouts are sent directly by Stripe to your bank account. Refunds, payout timing, chargeback handling, and account verification are managed through your Stripe account.
Stripe Availability
Properties located in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia can choose between:
Hospitable Payments
Stripe
Properties outside these countries may still be eligible through Stripe if Stripe supports the country where the property is located.

Payment processor eligibility is determined by the property's country. Properties located in countries supported by neither Hospitable Payments nor Stripe cannot process payments through Hospitable.
Managing Existing Payout Methods
From Settings → Payments & Payouts → Bank accounts, you can:
View your payout methods
Update property assignments
Set a default payout account
Review payout account status
Add additional payout methods
Delete payout methods that are no longer needed

Delete a Payout Method
To remove a payout method:
Go to Settings → Payments & Payouts → Bank accounts.
Locate the payout method you want to remove.
Click the ••• menu on the payout method card.
Select Delete payout method.
Confirm the deletion.
If the payout method is assigned to properties or payout workflows, you'll need to reassign those payouts before the account can be removed.
A payout method cannot be deleted if it is currently being used as the default payout account or is assigned to active properties. Assign a different payout method first, then try again.

Can I use different bank accounts for different properties?

Can I have more than one payout account?
Yes. You can add multiple payout accounts and assign them to different properties or payout workflows.
Do I need to verify my payout account?
If you're using Hospitable Payments, verification may be required before payouts can be released.

Where do I update my Stripe payout bank account?
Stripe payout methods are managed directly in Stripe. Changes made in Hospitable do not affect your Stripe payout settings.
Why can't I delete a payout method?
A payout method cannot be deleted while it is being used for payouts.
Before deleting the payout method:
Assign a different default payout account if applicable
Reassign any properties using that payout method
Once the payout method is no longer in use, it can be removed.
