This article explains how payouts work, when funds are sent, how to manage bank accounts, and what factors can affect payout timing.

Payouts When Using Stripe
When a Vrbo property uses Stripe, guest payments are processed through your Stripe account.
In this setup:
Stripe processes guest payments
Stripe sends payouts directly to your connected bank account
Stripe payout timing is controlled by your Stripe account settings
Hospitable does not control Stripe payout timing or delivery
Stripe processing fees apply
You should manage payout timing, balances, disputes, and refund activity directly in Stripe.
When using Stripe, payouts are sent by Stripe directly to your connected bank account. Hospitable does not manage Stripe payout delivery.
Managing Refunds When Using Stripe
If you use Stripe, you are responsible for maintaining enough available balance in your Stripe account to process refunds when needed.
If a refund is issued after funds have already been paid out, Stripe may recover the amount from:
Your available Stripe balance
Future payouts
Another recovery method supported by Stripe
Review your Stripe account regularly to ensure your balance can support refunds, disputes, and other payment adjustments.
Hosts using Stripe are responsible for managing their Stripe balance so refunds can be processed when needed.
When Funds Arrive
After a payout is initiated, funds typically arrive within several business days.
The exact timing may vary depending on:
Your bank
Banking holidays
Weekend processing schedules
Payment verification requirements
You can view the estimated arrival date for each payout in:
Settings → Payments & Payouts → Payouts
The estimated arrival date reflects when the funds are expected to reach your bank account after the payout has been initiated.
Estimated arrival dates are provided by the payment processor and may change due to banking delays, weekends, or holidays.
Last-Minute Bookings
Reservations made close to check-in may require additional payment verification before a payout can be released.
For bookings made shortly before check-in, payouts may be delayed while guest payments fully clear.
Some last-minute booking restrictions may also apply to Vrbo Request to Book reservations.
Guests cannot submit a new Vrbo Request to Book reservation within 48 hours of check-in. Instant Book reservations are not affected. See "Vrbo Partner: Request to Book" for details.
Early Payouts
Early payouts are not available for Vrbo Partner reservations.
All reservations follow the standard payout schedule.
Bank Accounts
Payouts are sent to the bank account assigned to the property.
Hosts can manage payout destinations from their payment settings.
To view or update bank account assignments:
Go to Settings → Payments & Payouts → Bank Accounts.
Review the bank account assigned to each property.
Update the assignment if needed.
Payment Processor Assignments
Payment processing settings can be configured independently for each property.
This allows you to use different payment processors across your portfolio based on your operational needs and eligibility.
For example:
Property A can use Hospitable as Merchant of Record
Property B can use Stripe
Payment processor settings can also differ by booking source.
For eligible accounts, a property may use:
Hospitable as Merchant of Record for Direct bookings
Stripe for Vrbo Partner reservations
In addition, individual upsells can be assigned their own payment processor when upsell payments are enabled.
Payment processor assignments determine how guest payments are collected and where payouts are sent. Available options depend on the booking source, property eligibility, and payment configuration.

Installment Payments
Depending on your booking policy, guests may be able to pay for their reservation in installments.
When installment payments are enabled:
The first payment is collected at booking
Additional payments are collected automatically according to the payment schedule
Guests receive reminders before scheduled payments
Payout timing continues to follow the standard payout schedule once payment requirements have been met.
Failed Guest Payments
If a scheduled installment payment fails, the system may attempt additional collections during a grace period.
If payment cannot be collected, the reservation may be cancelled according to the applicable payment and booking policies.
Reservation outcomes following failed installment payments depend on the booking policy configured for the listing.
Refunds After a Payout
Sometimes a refund is issued after a payout has already been sent.
When this happens, the refunded amount may be recovered from a future payout.
The adjustment will be reflected in your payout activity and transaction records.
