Most hosts using the Vrbo Partner Connection are on Vrbo's pay-per-booking model and are charged a commission on each reservation by Vrbo. If your Hospitable commission settings already match your agreement with Vrbo, no action is required.
This article explains how commission settings work in Hospitable and how to update them when they do not reflect how Vrbo bills you.
Your Vrbo commission setting in Hospitable does not change how Vrbo charges you. It only controls how commission is reflected in reservation financials and owner statements.
How Vrbo Commission Works in Hospitable
Hospitable uses the commission information configured for a property to calculate and display Vrbo commission costs in:
Reservation Financials
Owner Statements
Financial reporting
The commission setting should match the billing agreement you have with Vrbo.
If it does not, you can update the commission model and rate for the property.

Commission Models Supported
Hospitable supports the same commission models offered by Vrbo.
Pay-Per-Booking
Vrbo charges a commission percentage for each reservation.
This is the default configuration used by most hosts.
Annual Fee
Hosts on a Vrbo subscription plan pay a fixed annual fee instead of a commission on each reservation.
Vrbo bills this fee directly according to the agreement on the account.
Hospitable does not bill or collect Vrbo commission fees. All Vrbo commission charges are managed directly by Vrbo.
View Your Current Commission Configuration
To view the commission settings for a property:
Go to Properties.
Select the property.
Open Payments.
Open the Vrbo commission tab.
The page displays the commission model and commission rate currently configured for that property.

Update Your Commission Configuration
If the commission model or rate shown in Hospitable does not match how Vrbo bills you:
Open the Vrbo commission tab.
Click Not how you pay Vrbo? Update your Vrbo commission agreement.
Select the commission model:
Pay-per-booking
Annual fee
If using pay-per-booking, enter the commission percentage charged by Vrbo.
Enter the effective date.
Click Save changes.
The effective date tells Hospitable which reservations should use the new commission configuration.
Changes made here do not update your Vrbo account. They only update how commission is reflected inside Hospitable.
Understanding Effective Dates
The effective date determines when Hospitable starts applying the commission configuration.
Reservations created before the effective date continue using the previous configuration.
Reservations created on or after the effective date use the new configuration.
This allows commission changes to be applied accurately when your Vrbo billing agreement changes.
Related Payment Settings
The Vrbo commission configuration is separate from payment processor selection.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this change what Vrbo charges me?
No. Vrbo charges your account according to the agreement you have directly with Vrbo.
This setting only tells Hospitable how to reflect commission costs in reservation financials and owner statements.
What if my commission rate isn't 5%?
Enter the percentage that Vrbo actually charges for the property.
If you're unsure, review your billing agreement or commission terms in your Vrbo account.
What if I switch between pay-per-booking and an annual fee plan?
Update the commission configuration and set the effective date to the date the change took effect.
Hospitable will continue using the previous configuration for earlier reservations and apply the new configuration going forward.
Why don't I see the Vrbo commission tab?
The tab is only available for properties connected through the Vrbo Partner Connection.
Properties using the legacy Vrbo connection do not display the Vrbo commission tab.
Does changing the commission setting affect future payouts?
No. The commission setting only affects financial reporting inside Hospitable.
It does not change how Vrbo bills you, how payouts are processed, or how guest payments are collected.
