The Guest experience tab controls account-wide behavior for automated guest messaging. These preferences apply to the team owner’s account and affect the whole team.
Go to Settings → Preferences → Guest experience to manage them.
The Guest experience tab in Hospitable Preferences showing conversation language, returning guest confirmation, time restrictions, and fallback language settings
Prioritize the language of the conversation
Turn on Prioritize the language of the conversation to make the conversation language the preferred language when Hospitable selects a message template. Hospitable updates the conversation language from guest messages. It is not limited to the guest's first message.
When this preference is on, Hospitable prioritizes the conversation language over the guest's preferred language reported by the booking platform.
When it is off, Hospitable tries the platform guest language first, followed by the conversation language.
A manually selected conversation language takes priority over automatic language detection.
Send booking confirmation to returning guests
By default, Hospitable does not automatically send the normal booking confirmation to repeat guests. Instead, the message is prepared for manual confirmation.
Turn on Send booking confirmation to returning guests if you want booking confirmations to be sent to returning guests as well.
This can be useful when the confirmation contains information that repeat guests still need to receive.
Enforce time restrictions between 9 AM and 9 PM
When Enforce time restrictions (between 9am and 9pm) is on, Hospitable limits qualifying Reservations-flow scheduled guest messages to the permitted sending window.
This setting is enabled by default.
For messages scheduled well before check-in, Hospitable can use the guest's time zone. During the stay, Hospitable uses the reservation or property time zone. Scheduling logic also accounts for when the message occurs relative to check-in or check-out.
Time restrictions do not apply to every automated message. Supported after-booking and code-communication rules can bypass this restriction.
Turning the setting off allows applicable scheduled messages to be sent without the 9 AM–9 PM restriction.
Fallback language
Use Fallback language to select the language Hospitable should try when it cannot find the preferred template language.
Hospitable can consider several language sources when finding a matching template, including:
A manually selected conversation language
The detected conversation language
The guest's preferred language reported by the platform
Your fallback language
The fallback language is not always the final possible template Hospitable can use. If no template exists in the preferred or fallback languages, Hospitable can use another available template. If no matching rule can be found at all, the message is not sent.
