The “Before check-in” messaging rule is sent a certain amount of time before the guest’s scheduled check-in time, or exactly at the check-in time.
Use this messaging rule to communicate any information that your guest might need before checking in, such as how to gain access to the property, recommendations for things to do and see in the area, or whatever else you feel the guest should know before their stay with you.

Last-minute bookings
See the full article on messaging for last-minute bookings here.
If a guest books a stay with you past the scheduled send time of your “Before check-in” messaging rule, and you do not have the “Exclude last minute bookings” setting enabled on the messaging rule, then we will send the message 30 minutes after the guest books.
Activating a Before Check-in messaging rule and what happens with reservations that have already checked in that day
When you activate a check-in messaging rule and the conditions below are satisfied, then the message is generated and sent 30 minutes after the rule activation:
The check-in time of the guest is in the past
The intended send time (based on the rule's Timing) is in the past, but it is still within the day of check-in (i.e. before midnight at 23:59:59 based on the listing’s time zone)
Because you still have 30 minutes before it is sent, you can intercept the messages by going to Guest experience > Overview > Pending messages. Open each message and click on Delete.
