Note: The contents of this article do not refer to the connection between Hospitable and an external booking platform (Airbnb, Vrbo Partner connection, Booking.com), on the Channel connections page!
The contents of this article only refer to upgrading external apps (not booking platforms).
When you see the Upgrade Connection button beside an app in the Connected Integrations page, you have probably previously connected your Airbnb account to that integration directly, before connecting it to Hospitable.
This means that your Airbnb listings have a duplicate connection - one to Hospitable, and one directly to the app via Airbnb. This duplicate connection has no effect on how your listings are being managed in Hospitable. The features are working as normal. This simply means that the connected integration is currently able to sync with your Airbnb listings only.
Why do I need to upgrade?
Upgrading the connection allows the integration to access your listings through Hospitable instead of only through Airbnb. This gives the integration the ability to work with all of your Hospitable-connected listings and access additional Hospitable functionality.
Depending on the features supported by the integration, upgrading may allow the app to:
Sync with listings on all connected platforms, not just Airbnb listings.
Automatically add tags to properties in Hospitable.
Create direct bookings for custom websites you have built through the integration provider.
Update pricing, availability, and minimum stay settings on your calendar, provided you are using Hospitable's upgraded PMS connection with Airbnb.
Respond to guest reviews through the integration.
Access additional Hospitable features as they become available and are supported by the integration provider.
Note: Upgrading the connection does not automatically enable any of these actions. It only gives the integration access to support them. Whether a feature is available depends on what the integration provider has developed and enabled in their app.
What happens when I click on Upgrade Connection?
You will be redirected to the app's website. The next steps from there will vary depending on whether the application requires additional configuration related to upgraded integration.
