If you have a large number of unread conversations in your inbox, you can mark them as read in bulk instead of opening each one individually. There are two ways to do this, depending on whether you want to mark specific conversations or all unread conversations at once.

Mark selected conversations as read

Use this method when you want to mark specific conversations as read.

  1. Go to your Inbox.

  2. Select the conversations you want to mark as read using the checkboxes next to each thread.

  3. In the bulk actions bar at the bottom of the screen, click Mark as read.

Only the conversations you selected will be marked as read.

Mark all unread conversations as read

Use this method when you want to clear all unread conversations at once, or a filtered subset of them.

  1. Go to your Inbox.

  2. Open the Unread Messages segment.

  3. Click the Mark all as read button.

When no filters are applied, this action marks all unread conversations on your account as read. If you have filters active, only conversations matching those filters will be affected.

A confirmation dialog will appear before the action is carried out, so you can review before proceeding.

Booking.com conversations

Unread Booking.com threads are also marked as read when you use either of these methods. The read status is synced to Booking.com.

Frequently asked questions

Can I undo marking conversations as read?

You cannot undo the mass-update once it's done. However, any new incoming message on a conversation will mark it as unread again. Also, you can always mark an individual conversation as unread when viewing that conversation.

Does this work with filters?

Yes. When using the Mark all as read button in the Unread Messages segment, any active filters are respected. Only conversations that match your current filters will be marked as read. However, if you click on the Mark all as Read button within the Unread Messages view without using any additional filters, *all* unread messages on the account are actioned.

Is there a limit to how many conversations I can mark as read at once?

No. You can mark all unread conversations on your account as read in one action. A confirmation dialog will appear to make sure you want to proceed.
