The Turnover complete (early check-in) messaging rule lets you automatically notify an arriving guest when all turnover tasks for their property are finished.
The rule sends a message on the guest's check-in day, provided the property is ready and the guest is still more than one hour away from their scheduled check-in time. You can also choose to move the guest's check-in time earlier automatically.
Availability: This feature is available to eligible paid-plan users with access to the Turnover complete (early check-in) rule. It is not available on the Essentials plan. Accounts without access may not see the option when creating a messaging rule.
How the Turnover Complete Rule Works
When a host or teammate completes the final turnover task for a property, Hospitable checks whether the arriving guest is eligible to receive the message.
If all conditions are met, the message is sent immediately to the arriving guest.
For example, if a cleaner finishes preparing a property at 11:00 AM and the next guest's scheduled check-in is at 3:00 PM, Hospitable can send a message letting the guest know the property is ready.
The message is only sent after all relevant turnover tasks are completed or canceled. Completing one task does not trigger the message if other required tasks are still open.
Set Up a Turnover Complete Messaging Rule
Go to Guest Experience → Messaging.
Select Add new rule.
Choose Turnover complete (early check-in).
Write the message you want to send to arriving guests.
Configure the rule's scope by selecting the relevant platforms, hosts, and properties.
Choose whether to enable Move check-in earlier automatically.
Save and activate the rule.
You can use short codes and custom codes in your message, just as you would with other guest messaging rules.

When Will the Message Be Sent?
Hospitable sends the message only when all applicable conditions are met:
The arriving guest has an accepted reservation.
It is the guest's scheduled check-in day, based on the property's timezone.
All relevant turnover tasks between the previous guest's checkout and the arriving guest's check-in are completed or canceled.
The guest's scheduled check-in is still more than 60 minutes away.
The previous guest's checkout time has passed, including any approved late checkout.
The arriving guest has no outstanding check-in requirements, such as a security deposit, rental agreement, payment, or identity verification.
The guest has not already purchased an early check-in or late checkout through an upsell.
An active Turnover Complete messaging rule applies to the reservation.
Marketplace-assigned tasks do not trigger this messaging rule. The rule relies on eligible Operations tasks associated with the property.
Message Timing
The message is sent as soon as the final eligible turnover task is completed or canceled and all conditions are satisfied.
Unlike scheduled messages, the Turnover Complete rule does not have a configurable delay.
The usual messaging quiet hours do not apply to this event.
The message will not be sent if the guest's scheduled check-in is one hour away or less, even if all turnover tasks are complete.
Automatically Move Check-In Earlier
You can enable Move check-in earlier automatically in the messaging rule.
When the property is ready early and the guest meets the eligibility conditions,
Hospitable can:
Move the reservation's check-in time earlier.
Reschedule supported smart lock settings.
Update supported thermostat schedules.
Adjust scheduled check-in messages to match the new check-in time.
This allows eligible guests to access the property earlier without requiring you to update each connected system manually.
Moving check-in earlier is optional. If you leave this setting disabled, the rule can still notify the guest that the property is ready without automatically changing their scheduled check-in time.

Using Smart Upsell With Turnover Complete
The Turnover Complete messaging rule supports Smart Upsell for early check-in offers.
Because this event is triggered when the property is ready early, Smart Upsell offers associated with this rule are limited to early check-in products.

Why Didn't My Turnover Complete Message Send?
If the message wasn't sent, check the following:
Rule status: Confirm that the rule is enabled.
Rule scope: Make sure the reservation's property, host, and platform are included.
Task status: Check that all relevant turnover tasks are completed or canceled.
Check-in date: Confirm that the task was completed on the arriving guest's check-in day.
Check-in timing: Make sure more than 60 minutes remained before the scheduled check-in.
Previous checkout: Check whether the previous guest's checkout or paid late checkout was still in progress.
Guest requirements: Confirm that the arriving guest has completed any required payment, security deposit, agreement, or verification steps.
Existing upsells: Check whether the guest already purchased an early check-in or late checkout.
Hospitable sends a Turnover Complete message only once for the applicable turnover and reservation. Completing or updating another task afterward will not send the same message again.
