Hospitable generates automated guest reviews only after Airbnb makes a review available for a reservation. This timing is fully controlled by Airbnb and cannot be triggered earlier by Hospitable.
This article explains when an automated Airbnb review is generated, what triggers it, and what happens once Airbnb opens the review window.
When Hospitable generates an Airbnb review
Hospitable captures an Airbnb review as soon as Airbnb opens the review window and allows the host to leave a review.
In most cases, Airbnb opens the review window within 24 hours after the guest checks out, but the exact timing is determined by Airbnb and may vary.
What happens once Airbnb opens the review window
After Airbnb opens the reservation for review, Hospitable prepares review content in the following ways:
If you have at least one active review rule
Hospitable uses your review rule template to generate the automated Airbnb review message.
You’ll also receive an email notification confirming that the review has been captured.
AI-generated review suggestions
If you don't have an active review rule, Hospitable will generate an AI-based Airbnb review suggestion. This will automatically appear in the guest's conversation thread within the Inbox and gives you quick access to short review options with varied wording.
For hosts with review rules, you can also view the review here and use the Edit button to adjust using AI.
Using AI-generated reviews is optional—you decide whether to use them.
What does not trigger Airbnb review generation
For clarity:
Airbnb reviews are not generated when a reservation is accepted
Airbnb reviews are never generated before checkout
Hospitable waits until Airbnb opens the review window
