What are teammate roles?
Teammate roles are used to determine which communication and task assignments a teammate can receive.
As a host, you may be working with several teams, such as cleaners and managers, and you might want different teammate communication to go out to each one, as well as automatically assigning teammates to relevant tasks.
Assigning roles to teammates helps you configure different automatic notifications and tasks for each teammate.

What do the different teammate roles do?
Why teammate roles matter for tasks
In order to assign a teammate to a task, that teammate's profile needs to be set to the relevant role for that task.
For example, in order to assign a teammate to a cleaning task, they must be assigned to the Cleaning role.
The following are the different task rules, and the roles that can complete each task type:
Cleaning task: Cleaning role
Check-in task: Check-in role
Check-out task: Check-out role
Maintenance task:

Why teammate roles matter for team notifications
The roles assigned to your teammates determine which communication they will receive; the teammate profile must be scoped to the same role as the Notification rule that you want them to recieve notifications and message from.
For example, the member of your team assigned to the Cleaning role will receive notifications from any scheduled notification rules (such as check-in reminders) that are also scoped to the same role and property as the teammate.
Can teammates be set multiple roles?
Yes! Teammates can be assigned to one, multiple, or all roles.
If you assign a teammate to multiple roles, then please be aware that they will receive all event and scheduled reminder notifications that are scoped to the same property and set to the same role/s as the teammate.
