Connecting your Airbnb co-host account

Hospitable fully supports hosts connecting co-hosted Airbnb accounts. In fact, you can connect as many as you like to one Hospitable account!

You can connect your Airbnb co-host account under the Connected Accounts page.

After connecting a co-hosted Airbnb account or listing, you will need to invite the Airbnb listing owner to connect their Airbnb account to Hospitable in order to ensure full expected functionality, such as guest messaging and calendar sync.

Make sure to connect the Airbnb listing admin as well!

It is a requirement from Airbnb that any software which wants to control an Airbnb calendar or reservation be connected to the account and listing of the Listing Admin (also known as the Listing Owner). This is the person or account who created the original listing on Airbnb.

What happens if I don't or can't connect the listing admin to my Hospitable account?

If the listing admin listing is not connected to the same Hospitable account as the co-hosted listing, then Hospitable will not have access to edit listing details, settings, or calendar on Airbnb!

This means there will be no calendar pushes from Hospitable to Airbnb!

Furthermore, guest communication will suffer, as Hospitable will not reliably receive reservation status updates, such as when a reservation is booked, altered, or cancelled.

Airbnb sends these updates to the listing admin account, not the co-host. There are still instances where the co-host's account receives these updates, and Hospitable is able to schedule and send guest messages accordingly, but this is highly unreliable when the listing admin's listing is not connected to the same Hospitable account.

How do I check if the Primary Listing Admin is connected to my Hospitable account or not?

To find out if all of the listing admin listings for your co-hosted listings are connected to your Hospitable account:

  1. Go to Hospitable > Connected Accounts

  2. If the listing admin is not connected, your Airbnb account will be highlighted in yellow, and you will see the Invite Host button.

How to Connect the Primary Listing Admin/Listing Owner

Connecting the listing admin listing to your Hospitable account is a quick and painless process!

Managing different Airbnb listings under the same Airbnb account on different Hospitable accounts

While you can connect multiple Airbnb accounts to a Hospitable account, each Airbnb account can only be connected to one Hospitable account at a time.

For Hospitable to fully manage your Airbnb listings, the primary listing admin must be connected to the same Hospitable account.

Because that admin account can only be linked to a single Hospitable account, it is not possible to split and manage the listings from the same Airbnb account separately across multiple Hospitable accounts.

How to send messages from the Airbnb co-host

For properties that have more than one Airbnb host (listing admin + one or more co-hosts), you can choose the host account you would like Hospitable's automated messages to come from, when messaging Airbnb guests.

How to send manual messages from different Airbnb host profiles

  • Go to Hospitable > Inbox

  • Select the conversation with the guest

  • In the text box, click on the host profile picture

  • Select the host profile you would like the message to be sent from

Note: You can only select the profiles of Airbnb hosts who are the listing admin or co-hosts on the listing that the guest booked.

How to send scheduled messages from different Airbnb host profiles

  • Go to Hospitable > Guest Experience

  • Select Messaging Rules

  • Select the messaging rule from your list

  • Scroll down to where you see Scope

  • Under Hosts, select the Airbnb host you would like the message to come from

Note: You must select the profile of an Airbnb host who is the listing admin or co-host on the listing on the property in order for the message to be sent.

If the host profile you select does not have a listing for that property, then the guest who books that property cannot receive the message.
