Requesting ID verification through Rental Agreements

Can I request ID verification from my guest through the rental agreement?

Written by Pierre-Camille Hamana

Requesting ID verification from your guests is now available, directly through the rental agreement process.

This is offered as an optional setting in your rental agreement templates, that can be chosen to opt in or opt out of, for all reservations related to the properties scoped to your rental agreements. This will no longer apply to Direct Premium as ID verification is part of the guest verification feature.

Once you opt in to this setting, guests will be prompted to upload a photo ID and selfie during the rental agreement step in the guest portal. This verification uses facial recognition and follows a streamlined process adapted from our existing Direct Premium ID verification system.

Once the ID is verified, a copy of the guest’s ID, can be found in the inbox thread with the guest.

The current charge for this process is $2 per reservation. This feature will only verify the guest’s ID, it does not complete any additional checks regarding the risk of the booking, etc.

You're only charged when the guest completes the ID check. No charge if the guest never finishes or you cancel the verification before completion. Once completed, the charge stands even if the result is denied or the reservation is cancelled afterward — the scan has already been completed.
