Hospitable doesn't currently offer a native feature to receive notifications for new bookings. If you aren't receiving these reliably from other OTAs or want to get them from Hospitable, you can set up a notification rule for yourself.

  1. Add a teammate under Operations > Teammates. You can set the role to something like "manager".

  2. Create a notification to go to managers:

    1. Go to Operations > Notification Rules > + Add New > New Reservation notification.

    2. Select your preferred delivery method (email or SMS).

    3. Add your role, e.g. Manager, to the scope of the notification rule.

  3. Assign recipients.

    1. You can designate yourself (primary user), teammates, or other collaborators

Notification Rule Content

Shortcodes and custom codes can be added to notification rules to tailor them to each reservation.

Use the shortcode %pets% to get information on whether or not the guest is bringing pets, for example.

The same goes for the number of guests and children.

Troubleshooting Missing Notifications

If you aren't receiving notifications, address these areas to ensure proper delivery:

  • Verify that a notification rule for "New reservation" is active.

  • Ensure that you or a valid teammate is listed as a recipient.

  • Ensure that the teammate has the necessary information added in order to receive the notification. Example; if the notification is an SMS notification, then make sure the teammate has a phone number added to their profile.
