If you have returning guests who previously completed verification through Direct Premium, you can skip the verification process when creating a custom quote. This streamlines the booking experience for trusted guests while maintaining security.
How to Skip Verification for Returning Guests
When creating a custom quote for a returning guest, Hospitable can reuse their previous verification data if they meet these requirements:
The guest must have completed verification for a Direct Premium reservation after June 25, 2025. If their previous verification was before this date, they'll need to verify again.
The guest must have stayed through Direct Premium previously. Guests who only booked through Airbnb, Vrbo, or Booking.com will still need to complete verification, even if they're returning guests. Their verification data from other platforms is not stored in our system.
When these conditions are met, you'll see an option to bypass verification while creating the custom quote.
If guests are unable to complete verification in the set timeframe, you can contact Hospitable support to request an extension of the verification deadline. Doing so can help prevent automatic expiration of the reservation and simplify the guest's experience.
When Verification Cannot Be Skipped
Guests will always need to complete verification if they:
Book directly through your site (rather than through a custom quote)
Have never completed Direct Premium verification before
Completed their previous verification before June 25, 2025
Handling Expired Reservations
If a guest's reservation expires due to incomplete verification, you could resend a payment link; using the "Direct Booking" feature to send a new quote.
Why Guest Verification is Required
Guest ID Verification is required for all Direct Premium reservations as part of the Direct Premium Terms of Service.
This verification allows Hospitable to:
Offer chargeback protection on every Direct Premium reservation
Provide damage protection coverage
Act as Merchant of Record and take on liability for your reservations
According to Section 5.4 (Guest Screening) of the Terms of Service: Hospitable uses a third-party vetting service to screen guests. Only guests who complete successful identity verification may make bookings in the Marketplace. Hospitable may block guests that have passed identity verification but have been identified as high-risk or potentially fraudulent.
Alternative: Manual Bookings
If you prefer not to require verification for a specific guest, you can create a manual booking and collect payment off-platform.
Important: Manual bookings are not eligible for Damage Protection or Chargeback Protection.
Additionally, for guests whose reservations expired due to verification issues, consider manual rebooking as an alternative. However, keep in mind that this approach requires you to manage payment and protections externally, as such reservations don't include automated features.
