Images on your direct booking site are pulled from your property details and site settings. These images are used across your homepage and property pages to present your listings to guests.
This article explains where images come from, how to update them, and how they appear on your site.
Where Your Images Come From
Images on your direct site come from two places:
Property images
Pulled from your property details in Hospitable
May be synced from connected platforms (e.g., Airbnb)
Displayed on property pages and listings
Site (hero) images
Uploaded directly in your site editor
Displayed on the homepage as a banner or background

Manage Property Images
Property images are managed at the property level, not in the site editor.
To update property images:
Go to Properties
Select your property
Open the Details tab
Click Manage photos
Add, remove, or reorder images
Changes made here will automatically update on your direct booking site.

Image syncing behavior
If your property is connected to a listing platform:
Images may be imported automatically
Once you edit images in Hospitable, syncing for those images may stop
Editing images directly in Hospitable overrides synced images from connected platforms.
Reordering and Replacing Images
You can control how images appear by:
Dragging and dropping to reorder them
Replacing low-quality images with higher-quality versions
Uploading multiple images at once
Image order is reflected on your direct booking site.

Hero Images and Videos
You can customize the main visual section of your site using hero images or a video.
To update the hero section:
Go to Direct Bookings → Websites
Select your site
Open the Overview section
Upload images or a video to the hero section
You can:
Add multiple images (displayed as a slideshow)
Upload a single video instead of images

Image guidelines
For best results:
Use high-resolution images
Use landscape orientation for banners
Avoid text or watermarks on images
Large images are automatically optimized to improve loading speed.
How Images Appear on Your Site
Property images appear on listing cards and property pages
Hero images appear at the top of your homepage
Multiple images may display as slideshows depending on your setup
Some display behavior (such as layout and cropping) is controlled by your selected site template.
Important Limitations
Image layout and presentation are template-based
Some cropping or resizing may occur automatically
Only one hero video can be used at a time
Image order on some integrations (such as Google Vacation Rentals) may be controlled externally and cannot be changed from Hospitable.
