Getting Started with Your Direct Booking Site

Set up your direct booking site and prepare your properties to start accepting bookings

Written by Dawn Ginie Santoyo

Your direct booking site allows guests to browse your properties and book directly with you. Before your site can accept bookings, there are a few key setup steps to complete.

This guide walks through what you need to set up, how everything connects, and what to check before publishing your site.

What Your Direct Booking Site Includes

Your direct booking site is automatically generated in Hospitable and includes:

  • A homepage with your listings

  • Individual property pages

  • A booking flow for guests

  • A guest portal for confirmed reservations

Depending on your setup, you can use:

  • A Hospitable-hosted site (no external setup required)

  • A custom site with widgets embedded into your own website

Before You Start

To accept direct bookings, your account and properties must be fully set up.

1. Ensure your properties are eligible

Each property must meet eligibility requirements, including:

  • A valid address

  • A connected payout method

  • Complete listing details

  • Pricing and availability

Also see: Managing Property Eligibility for Direct Bookings

If a property does not meet eligibility requirements, it will not be bookable or visible on your site

2. Add and review your property content

Make sure each property includes:

  • High-quality photos

  • A clear title and description

  • Amenities and important details

This information is displayed directly on your site and helps guests decide to book.

3. Confirm pricing and availability

Ensure that:

  • Nightly rates are set

  • Your calendar is up to date

Guests can only book dates that are available and priced.

Set Up Your Direct Booking Site

Once your properties are ready, you can configure your site.

Customize your site

You can adjust:

  • Branding (colors, logo, styling)

  • Page content and layout

  • Property display settings

Review your site structure

Your site typically includes:

  • A homepage listing all properties

  • Individual property pages

  • A booking flow for guests

Make sure everything is organized and easy to navigate.

Publish Your Site

When your site is ready:

  1. Review your content and property details

  2. Confirm all properties are eligible

  3. Publish your site

After publishing, your site will be accessible through:

  • A Hospitable subdomain

  • Or your connected custom domain

Optional: Use Widgets Instead of a Hosted Site

If you already have a website, you can embed Hospitable’s booking functionality using widgets.

This allows you to:

  • Add booking capability to an existing site

  • Keep your current design and branding

What to Check Before Going Live

Before sharing your site, confirm:

  • All properties are eligible

  • Listings are complete and accurate

  • Pricing and availability are correct

  • Your site content and branding are finalized

  • Your domain is set up (if applicable)

After Your Site Is Live

Once your site is published:

  • Guests can browse and submit booking requests

  • You’ll receive booking requests to review and accept

  • Payments and confirmations will follow your booking flow

Important Things to Know

  • Your site is only as complete as your property setup

  • Ineligible properties will not appear or be bookable

  • You can update your site at any time after publishing

  • Widgets and hosted sites are alternative ways to accept bookings
