Preferences: General

Configure your language, time zone, calendar layout, appearance, and beta feature preferences.

Written by Dawn Ginie Santoyo

The General tab contains display and account preferences used across Hospitable. Some settings are saved separately for each user, while beta features apply to the entire account.

Go to Settings → Preferences → General to manage these settings.

Language

Use Language (User interface) to select the language used in the Hospitable interface.

Time zone

Your time zone is used by features that depend on your local time, including your Daily Digest.

To update it:

  1. Go to Settings → Preferences → General.

  2. Under Timezone, select your preferred time zone.

  3. Select Save.

Daily Digest emails are scheduled for 8:00 AM in the recipient’s configured time zone.

The General preferences screen in Hospitable with the Timezone dropdown menu and time format (12 vs 24-hour) highlighted

Time format

Choose how Hospitable displays times:

  • 12-hour format, such as 3:30pm

  • 24-hour format, such as 15:30

Select Save after changing the setting.

Start of week

Choose whether calendar weeks start on:

  • Sunday

  • Monday

This preference is saved per user.

It affects:

  • Property and multi-calendar week layouts

  • Shared date pickers and filter bars

  • Weekly reporting and metric boundaries that use the logged-in user’s preference

If a teammate does not have their own start-of-week preference, Hospitable uses the team owner’s setting.

Appearance

Choose one of the following display modes:

  • Light

  • Dark

  • System

System follows your browser or operating system's light or dark appearance preference. Hospitable updates automatically if that system preference changes.

Your appearance preference is saved per user and syncs across devices when you log in.

Beta features

Turn on Enable beta (experimental) features to give the account access to eligible features before they are released more broadly.

Beta features are an account-wide setting. Only the account owner or a team admin can change it, and all teammates use the account owner's beta feature setting.

To enable or disable beta features:

  1. Go to Settings → Preferences → General.

  2. Turn Enable beta (experimental) features on or off.

  3. Select Save.

Beta features may change while they are still being developed.

How will I know what is new?

Once beta features are enabled, when a new feature is added, you will see a banner within your account to help discover the new feature.

Keep in mind, beta features are brand new; we rely on our early adopters to give us feedback and help us improve before we build out help content and roll it out to everyone.

If you've enabled beta features, we highly encourage you to contact us and share your experience and feedback as you use these new features!
