Secondary Users can be given Full access or Custom access to your account.
The access level you choose determines which features, properties, financial information, and account settings the Secondary User can use.
Full Access vs. Custom Access
Full access
Full access gives a Secondary User:
Full access to all features
Full access to all properties
Access to financial data
Access to certain account-level settings and management tools
Some areas specifically require Full access because they are not available as individual permissions under Custom access.
Full access does not give a Secondary User access to Plans & billing or User Management. These remain available only to the primary account owner.
Custom access
Custom access lets you choose which parts of your account a Secondary User can access.
You can select:
Specific features
Specific properties
Optional access to financial data
Additional permissions available for individual features
This is useful when someone only needs access to certain features or properties.
Selecting all available permissions under Custom access is not the same as granting Full access. Some account-level settings and actions specifically require Full access.
What Requires Full Access?
The following areas or actions require the Secondary User to have Full access.
Area | Full access is required to |
Payments & payouts | View payout information and manage payout methods |
Branding | Manage brands, domains, and phone numbers |
Languages | Manage language settings |
Taxes | Access annual earnings reports and tax documents |
Preferences | Manage team-wide preferences and settings |
Integrations | Connect, remove, or upgrade integrations on behalf of the account |
API & MCP | Access API tokens and MCP |
Your business | Create or edit business records |
Metrics | Edit Metrics dashboards, when available on the account |
Some account-level opportunities, recommendations, and alerts may also only be available to the primary account owner or Secondary Users with Full access.
Payments & Payouts
Secondary Users currently need Full access to access payout information and manage payout methods under Settings → Payments & payouts.
Payout access cannot currently be granted separately through Custom access.
Full access provides access to all features and properties. It is not currently possible to give a Custom access Secondary User access to payouts without also granting Full access.
This does not affect the other financial permissions available under Custom access. Financial information for Reservations, Calendar, Tasks, and other supported features can still be controlled through their individual permissions.
Permissions Available With Custom Access
When you select Custom access, use the Permissions section to choose which features and properties the Secondary User can access.
Reservations
Reservation access is included for Secondary Users.
Additional permissions include:
Display financial data — View financial information associated with reservations
Manage Reservations — Add and update manual reservations
Inbox
Allows access to the Inbox to communicate with guests and manage conversations.
An additional permission may be available to:
Purchase additional services
Calendar
Allows access to the Calendar.
Additional permissions include:
Display pricing — View nightly rates
Update pricing — Update nightly rates
Update availability and min stay — Manage availability and minimum-stay requirements
Properties
Allows access to property information for the properties assigned to the Secondary User.
Property access is also controlled separately under the Properties section of Permissions.
Guest Experience
Allows access to Guest Experience features for the properties the Secondary User can access.
Operations
Allows access to Operations features for the properties the Secondary User can access.
Access to Operations does not give a Custom access Secondary User permission to create or edit Your business records. This requires Full access.
Tasks
Allows access to Tasks associated with the properties available to the Secondary User.
Additional permissions include:
Update their tasks
Update all tasks
Update task pricing and bank account
Tasks are assigned to Teammates. A person can be both a Secondary User and a Teammate, but these are set up separately.
Integrations
Allows access to available Integrations.
Custom access to Integrations does not allow the Secondary User to connect, remove, or upgrade integrations on behalf of the account. These actions require Full access.
API and MCP access also require Full access.
Metrics
Allows the Secondary User to view Metrics when the feature is available on the account.
Full access is required to edit Metrics dashboards.
Direct
Allows access to Direct features for the properties assigned to the Secondary User.
Access to payout information is not available as a separate Custom access permission and requires Full access.
Devices
Allows view access to Devices.
An additional permission can allow the Secondary User to:
Create, Update, Delete, Unlock/Lock
Property Access
Feature permissions and property permissions work together.
Under Properties, select the properties the Secondary User should be able to access.
A Secondary User may have permission to use a feature but still be unable to access information for a property that has not been assigned to them.
When new properties are added to the account, review your Secondary Users' permissions and grant access where needed.
What Only the Primary Account Owner Can Do
Full access gives a Secondary User broader account access, but it does not make them the primary account owner.
Even with Full access, a Secondary User cannot:
Access or manage Plans & billing
Access User Management to invite, edit, or remove Secondary Users
Mute or unmute properties
These actions remain available only to the primary account owner.
Change a Secondary User's Permissions
Only the primary account owner can change a Secondary User's access.
To update their permissions:
Go to Settings ⚙️ → User Management.
Select the Secondary User.
Choose Full access or Custom access.
If using Custom access, select the applicable Features and Properties.
Click Update.
Changes to their access take effect for that Secondary User without changing the permissions of other users.
