Manage Teammate Payments

Learn how to enable teammate payments, set payment amounts, approve completed tasks, choose a funding method, and record payments made outside Hospitable.

Written by Dawn Ginie Santoyo

Hospitable allows eligible hosts to pay teammates for completed tasks. You can configure payment amounts, review completed work, and manage payments directly from Hospitable.

Teammates receive their payments through the payout method they configure in the Tasks App. Hosts manage the payment settings and funding method in Hospitable.

Before You Start

To use teammate payments:

  • Your Hospitable account must be eligible for Operations payouts and have a US-based account owner.

  • Your subscription must support teammate payments.

  • The teammate must be added under Operations → Teammates.

Teammate payments are supported on Essentials, Host, Professional, and Mogul plans.

Legacy plans do not support teammate payments. Essentials plans support per-task payouts only.

Enable Payments for a Teammate

  1. Go to Operations → Teammates.

  2. Open the teammate's profile.

  3. Enable teammate payments.

  4. Configure the available payment settings.

  5. Save your changes.

Once payments are enabled, the teammate can use the Payouts section of the Tasks App to review earnings and manage their payout information.

Teammates must configure their own payout method and complete any required identity verification. Hosts cannot add or update a teammate's payout method.

Set or Change a Task Payment Amount

You can configure how much a teammate should receive for completing a task.

To add or change a payment amount on an existing task:

  1. Go to Operations → Task Management.

  2. Open the task.

  3. Find the Payments section.

  4. Enter or update the payment amount.

The configured amount is the amount the teammate receives. Applicable service fees are charged separately to the host.

You can change the payment amount while the task is unpaid or pending approval. Once the payment has been completed, the amount is locked.

Review and Approve Task Payments

When a teammate completes a task, Hospitable starts a 24-hour approval period.

During this period, you can review the completed work and approve or dispute the payment.

If you take no action within 24 hours, Hospitable automatically approves the payment.

After approval, the payment follows the teammate's configured payout schedule.

Approving a payment does not mean the teammate receives the funds immediately. Payment processing depends on the selected payout schedule and funding method.

Fund Teammate Payments

Hospitable supports bank-funded and credit card-funded teammate payments.

Bank-Funded Payments

For bank-funded task payments, Hospitable uses your Marketplace balance to fund payouts.

Funds are transferred from your linked bank account in advance for upcoming payable tasks.

You can review your Marketplace balance under Settings → Payments & Payouts → Marketplace.

Bank-funded payments follow the service fee rules for your subscription plan and payout schedule.

Credit Card-Funded Payments

You can also fund teammate task payouts using a credit card.

Credit card-funded payouts incur a 3.9% service fee, regardless of whether you use per-task or grouped payout schedules.

Beta availability: Credit card-funded teammate payouts are currently available to Beta users only. Access will be extended to more users over the coming weeks. For eligible Beta users, credit card-funded payouts incur a 3.9% service fee and do not qualify for free payouts.

Pay a Teammate Outside Hospitable

If you've paid a teammate directly using cash, a payment app, or another method, you can record the task as paid outside Hospitable.

Mark a Task as Pay Off Platform

  1. Go to Operations → Task Management.

  2. Open the task.

  3. Select the Payment tab.

  4. Choose Pay off platform.

  5. Review the confirmation and confirm.

Hospitable will not process or automatically approve the task payment.

The configured payment amount remains on the task for your records, and any reserved funds are released back to your Marketplace balance.

Pay off platform is irreversible. Once selected, you cannot switch that task payment back to payment through Hospitable. Confirm that you have paid, or will pay, the teammate outside Hospitable before selecting this option.

If a Teammate Has Not Set Up Their Payout Method

Teammates must add a supported bank account and complete any required identity verification through the Tasks App.

If a teammate completes a payable task without finishing payout setup, their payment remains on hold.

Once they add a verified payout method, Hospitable starts a new 24-hour approval period and retries the payment.

Hosts cannot complete payout verification on behalf of teammates. The teammate must enter and verify their own payout information.

Review Payment Statuses

To review teammate payments, go to Operations → Task Management → Payments.

You can review upcoming, past, and failed payout runs, along with the individual task payments included in each run.

A payout run's overall status does not always confirm that every individual task payment was sent. Check the task-level payment details when verifying a specific payment.

Task Payments vs. Inventory Reimbursements

Task payments compensate teammates for completing assigned work.

Inventory reimbursements cover approved supply purchases made by eligible cleaners. These are separate payment workflows.

Credit card-funded Inventory reimbursements also incur a 3.9% service fee, with no free reimbursement allowance.
