You have probably heard your guests say that they've enjoyed their stay so much that they wish they didn't have to leave. Why not be proactive and offer an extension before they even ask? Hospitable allows you to inform your guests about this possibility automatically by sending a guest message only if the day before or after their booking is available.
The setup
This setup requires you to leverage the custom codes feature. If you are not familiar with the custom codes yet, check out this article first.
There are two different scenarios this set up can solve:
Offering an extension when the night before the check-in is available.
Offering an extension when the night after the check-out is available.
Night before the check-in is available
Go to the custom codes tab and create a code with the condition The night before the planned check-in is available. Name the code as you wish. In this tutorial, we have named it %%night before%%. Write the information about the possibility to book the night before into the text field and save the code.
A great approach for up-selling the available nights is offering a small discount in case the guest decides to extend.
Night after the planned check-out is available
Go to the custom codes tab and create a code with the condition The night after the planned check-out is available. Name the code as you wish. In this tutorial, we have named it %%night after%%. Write the information about the possibility to book the night after into the text field and save the code.
Use the codes in your templates
Choose a message that should display this information in case the condition is true, and enter the codes into the relevant templates. For example, you can offer the possibility to extend the stay in your booking confirmation.
The outcome
As a result, your message will include the paragraphs only if the conditions are true at the moment the message is sent. The codes will not have any effect on your availability. If the condition is not true, the paragraph would simply disappear from your message.
