What is a listing admin?

The Airbnb listing admin (often referred to as the listing owner) is the Airbnb account that created the listing. It's the account that contains the original Airbnb listing.

If you are a co-host on an Airbnb listing, you must invite the Airbnb listing owner to connect their Airbnb account to Hospitable. This is a requirement from Airbnb.

What happens if I don't or can't connect the listing admin to my Hospitable account?

If the listing admin listing is not connected to the same Hospitable account as the co-hosted listing, then Hospitable will not have access to edit listing details, settings, the calendar on Airbnb, or post reviews!

This means there will be no calendar pushes from Hospitable to Airbnb!

To gain full access to Airbnb listings, manage reservations and the calendar, post reviews, and more, listing owners need to connect their Airbnb accounts to Hospitable. If you are a co-host, you can invite the listing owners to connect their Airbnb accounts to your Hospitable account.

An Airbnb account can only be connected to one Hospitable account at a time.

How do I invite the listing admin to connect their listings to my Hospitable account?

Connecting the listing admin listing to your Hospitable account is a quick and painless process!

There are two ways in which you can invite listing admins to connect their listings to your Hospitable account:

1. Invite hosts to connect new listings to Hospitable

This method invites hosts to connect their Airbnb account to your Hospitable account, even if you haven't connected your co-hosted listing to Hospitable, or if you are not a co-host on their listing at all.

Note: You should not connect your own Hospitable account via this method! This method is specifically intended for connecting Airbnb accounts that you do not have access to log into.

  1. Go to Hospitable > Connected accounts

  2. Select 'Invite hosts' at the top of the page

  3. Enter the full name and email of the hosts you are inviting to connect

  4. Click 'Continue'

  5. Hospitable will send an email to the host with you cc'd, prompting them to connect their Airbnb account to your Hospitable account.

  6. The host should then click 'Connect my Airbnb account', where they'll be prompted to log in to Airbnb and authorize Hospitable to access their account.

Note: Accounts that are connected via this method can only be connected on the full PMS connection; they can't be connected on a limited connection or downgraded to a limited connection at a later time!

Attempts to downgrade the connection for accounts connected by this method will result in an account disconnection.

You can read more about the full PMS connection here.

2. Invite the listing admin to connect their account to the listings that you've already imported to Hospitable through your co-hosted account

If you have already connected your co-host account to Hospitable, the listing owner must still connect their own account. This is an Airbnb requirement.

If you have imported a co-hosted listing into your Hospitable account, but the connection to the Airbnb listing admin is still missing, you will see the Airbnb channel highlighted in yellow on the Hospitable > Connected accounts page. You will also see a button that says "Invite host".

Here is how to add those listing admins:

  1. Go to Hospitable > Connected accounts

  2. Click 'Invite host' next to the channel that's missing its listing admin

  3. Fill in the required details

  4. Hospitable will send an email to the host with you cc'd, prompting them to connect their Airbnb account to your Hospitable account.

  5. The host should then click 'Connect my Airbnb account' where they'll be prompted to log in to Airbnb and authorize Hospitable to access their account.

Troubleshooting Invitation Issues

Sometimes, connection issues arise when attempting to invite a listing owner:

  • Issue: An invitation to connect an Airbnb account to a new Hospitable account cannot be accepted.

    • Cause: The Airbnb account is already linked to another Hospitable account. Hospitable does not allow accounts to connect to multiple Hospitable systems simultaneously.

    • Resolution: Disconnect the Airbnb account from the current Hospitable account. After doing so, resend the invitation for the new connection.

  • Issue: An invitation to connect an Airbnb account to a new Hospitable account cannot be accepted.

    • Cause: The Airbnb listing admin has their own Hospitable account and is logged into that account on their browser.

    • Resolution: The listing admin will need to log out of their Hospitable account before trying to accept the email invite to connect their Airbnb listings to your Hospitable account.

  • Issue: The host clicks the "Connect my Airbnb account" button in the invitation email from Hospitable, but they are brought to a page showing them a different Airbnb account to the one they want to connect.

    • Cause: The host is logged into a different Airbnb account on their browser.

    • Resolution: The host needs to log out of the incorrect Airbnb account on their browser and log into the one they want to connect with Hospitable before trying to accept the invitation again.
If this still doesn't work, then have them clear their browser's cache or try a different browser (they must be logged into their Airbnb account on the browser!).
