Using Other Software Alongside Airbnb (Limited Connection)

If you use another management software with Airbnb, you'll need to use a limited connection with Hospitable. Here is what that means.

Who Should Utilize a Limited Airbnb Connection?

Hospitable offers a limited connection for hosts who want to use Hospitable alongside other property management software. This is offered because Airbnb only allows one software provider to be the source of truth on your calendar.

What Is a Limited Connection?

While on a Limited Connection:

  • Hospitable will not push calendar updates to Airbnb.

    • If you have manual or Direct bookings, you must use your property's iCal feed to ensure bookings get added to the calendar that controls your property availability.

  • Hospitable will pull reservations from Airbnb. You can use Hospitable for messaging, smart devices, operations, etc.

  • If Airbnb is your lead listing, Hospitable will still pull calendar data.

  • You will see a yellow "Calendar Restricted" label on your Connected Accounts page next to all accounts on a limited connection.

How to Set a Limited Connection

If you already have other property management software connected to your Airbnb account and try to connect to Hospitable normally, the connection will fail.

Your choice is either to disconnect your other software or use our limited connection.

To connect a new Airbnb channel on a Limited Connection:

  1. Confirm that you are logged in to your Airbnb account in another tab

  2. From Hospitable, click on Connected Accounts

  3. Click on Connect with Airbnb

  4. In the new window, select the option at the bottom of the screen for hosts who already have software connected to their Airbnb

  5. Click Limited connection.

  6. Confirm the connection on the following screen

New Users: Adjustments To Make

Automated messages are enabled if you choose the "Jumpstart" onboarding option during your Hospitable account setup. This could cause a duplicate message if you already have messages configured with your existing software.

Since automated messaging is one of the strongest features of our system, we suggest configuring your Hospitable messaging and then disabling your automated messages on any other systems. This way, you can test our messaging performance and understand our reliability.

To downgrade an Airbnb channel already connected to Hospitable:

  1. Log in to the Airbnb channel you wish to downgrade

  2. Once logged in, go to Hospitable > Connected Accounts

  3. Next to the channel, click Edit and Downgrade to limited connection

  4. Confirm the downgrade on the following screen

Upgrading to a Full Connection

If you decide later that you want Hospitable to manage your Airbnb calendar, you would need to disconnect any other property management software and then connect your Airbnb account to upgrade to our full connection.

Cohosted Listings

All cohosted listings are required to have the Listing Owner connected in order to be claimed on an upgraded connection. Listings without a connected Listing Owner will be calendar-restricted. In order to upgrade the connection, you'll need to invite the listing owner to connect on a full connection.
