This article explains how to complete a task job in the Teammate Portal once it’s assigned to you. You’ll open the task from the Dashboard or Jobs tab, review the property details, update your progress (on the way, arrived, inside), and finish by completing the checklist and uploading photos.
For a full overview of the portal, read the Teammate Portal overview.
Open the task
Find the task
You can open a task from either place:
Dashboard: Click the task under Today’s jobs or Upcoming jobs
Jobs: Click the task from your accepted/requested jobs list
You may also find tasks through notifications:
Push notification (1 hour before): If you have a task starting in 1 hour, you'll receive a push notification on your device. Tap it to go directly to the task.
SMS reminder (24 hours before): If your host has set up SMS reminders, you'll receive a text message 24 hours before a task starts. The message includes a direct link to the task in Hospitable Tasks.
Review task and property details
After you open a task, you can review:
Task details
Property details
Property address, which includes a link to open your maps app
A quick link to message the host
The checklist for the task
Any notes from the host
The smart lock code, if the host has set up that integration
The wi-fi information for the property
Start the task and update your status
As you travel to and arrive at the property, you’ll update your task status from the bottom of the screen.
When you’re heading to the property, click On my way.
When you arrive, click Arrived on site.
When you’re inside the property, click I’m inside – start the job.
Note: On my way is only available if you’re within 4 hours of the task start time.
Complete the checklist and upload photos
After you start the job, you can:
Upload arrival photos
Upload completion photos
View and complete items on the checklist if one has been created for the job (Note: you won’t be able to check off items on the checklist until the task is In Progress)
We will automatically flag unique task list items that are not usually on the checklist so you'll know when something new is requested of you.
Add photos for specific checklist items
Note: Photos can also be added retroactively after the task is completed, not just at the time it's done.
Submit an issue to the host
If you notice a problem at the property (for example, damage, missing items, or something that needs maintenance), you can report it to the host directly from the task.
Report an issue
Open the task from the Dashboard or Jobs tab.
In the task, click Report an issue.
Add a description of the issue.
Add a photo if needed.
Click Submit.
What happens after you submit
The issue is sent to the host right away.
If you need to report more than one issue, submit them one at a time by repeating the steps above.
Mark the job as complete
When you’ve finished the checklist items and uploaded all necessary photos:
Click Complete job.
Confirm that you want to complete the job.
You’ll see a confirmation that the job is complete.
Get paid for the job
This section applies if your host pays you through the Teammate Portal. Teammate payouts are currently available for US-based hosts only.
Set up your payout method
Before the host can pay you through the portal, you'll need to connect a bank account and complete identity verification.
In the portal, go to Earnings.
Find Set up your payout method and click Set up.
Connect your bank account — you'll be guided through the process using Plaid to securely link your bank.
Complete identity verification (KYC) — you may be asked to verify your identity. This is a one-time step required before you can receive payouts.
Important: Both steps (bank account + identity verification) must be completed before you can receive payments. If either step is incomplete, the host's payment will be held until you finish setup. Hospitable will notify you if action is needed.
If you don't see the Earnings tab in your portal, it means your host hasn't set up payments on their end yet. Ask them to complete the payment setup in Hospitable.
What happens after a task is completed
Once you mark a job as complete:
The host reviews the task and can approve or dispute the payment.
If the host doesn't take action, the payment auto-approves after 24 hours.
After approval, the payout is queued for processing (currently within approximately 24 hours of approval).
The payout is sent via ACH bank transfer, which typically takes 3–5 business days to arrive.
Total expected time from task approval to funds in your bank: approximately 4–8 business days.
Note: "Instant payment" refers to the payout being initiated upon approval — it does not mean the money arrives in your bank immediately. Bank transfer times are determined by the banking system.
Troubleshooting
I don't see the Earnings tab
The Earnings tab only appears if your host has enabled payments on their end. Ask the host you work with to confirm they've completed the payment setup in Hospitable. Teammate payouts are currently US-only.
My bank account won't connect
Try a different browser or clear your cookies and try again.
If Plaid's quick-connect option isn't working for your bank, try the manual document upload option.
If you're on mobile and the "Verify" button isn't responding, try completing the process on a desktop browser.
I completed a task but haven't been paid
After a task is marked complete:
The host has 24 hours to approve or dispute the payment. If no action is taken, it auto-approves.
After approval, payout processing takes up to 24 hours.
The ACH bank transfer takes 3–5 business days.
If more than 8 business days have passed since task approval:
Confirm you've completed payout setup (bank account + identity verification) in Earnings.
Ask your host to check the payment status on the task.
Contact support at [email protected] with the task details.
I completed identity verification but it still says pending
Identity verification can take a short time to process. If it's been more than 24 hours, contact support.
I can't find a task I was assigned
Check the Jobs tab — look under both Requested and Accepted.
If you recently received an SMS reminder, tap the link in the message to go directly to the task.
If the task doesn't appear at all, ask your host to verify you are assigned to the correct task and property.
