How Hospitable Detects New Airbnb and Vrbo Listings, and why Booking.com is different

Understand how new listings are added to Hospitable from your connected channels and when manual action is required

Written by Kelly

Hospitable keeps your listings in sync with your connected channels, but the way new listings are imported depends on the platform. Airbnb and Vrbo listings are automatically detected and added, while Booking.com listings must be connected manually.

This article explains how listing imports work for each channel and what to do if your listings don’t appear.

Automatic Listing Imports for Airbnb and Vrbo

Hospitable automatically syncs your connected Airbnb and Vrbo accounts every 2 hours.

To view your connected channels:

  • Go to Settings ⚙️ → Channel connections

During each sync, Hospitable detects newly created listings, imports new listings into Hospitable, reflects listing status changes (listed or unlisted), and removes deleted listings (if relevant).

Any changes made directly in Airbnb or Vrbo will appear in Hospitable after the next scheduled sync.

Vrbo Sync Delays

In some cases, Vrbo may delay making new or updated listing data available through its public API.

If Vrbo has not yet published updated listing information to its public API, Hospitable cannot access it during the sync. This may result in delays longer than 2 hours and is outside of Hospitable’s control.

Hospitable can only import the information that Vrbo makes available at the time of each sync. If you don't see the changes reflected in Hospitable yet, it's likely it will be picked up in the following sync 2 hours later.

Note for Vrbo Partner connections: Vrbo Partner accounts sync continuously rather than on the 2-hour cycle, so newly created listings typically appear in Hospitable within minutes. See Vrbo Partner Connection: Connect a Vrbo Account for details on how Partner differs from Legacy.

How to Manually Re-Sync a Channel

If you need updates to appear sooner, you can manually trigger a sync.

To re-sync a connected Airbnb or Vrbo account:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙️ → Channel connections

  2. Click Edit next to the Airbnb or Vrbo account

  3. Click Re-sync

The sync will run immediately and check for new or updated listings.

The Re-sync button pulls newly created/added listings from the channel. It does not refresh calendar, availability, or pricing data. If reservations or blocked dates seem like they're not syncing, see Troubleshooting Availability Sync Issues instead.

Booking.com Listing Imports

Booking.com works differently from Airbnb and Vrbo: : listings must be connected manually, one at a time. There is no automatic listing detection, so each Booking.com listing must be connected to Hospitable manually, one at a time, using your Booking.com Hotel (Accommodation) ID. See How to Connect a Booking.com Listing to Hospitable for the full step-by-step.
