The Tasks App is where teammates can view and manage work assigned by hosts. You can sign in to see requested and accepted task jobs, accept or reject tasks, complete assigned tasks, message hosts, and connect a bank account to get paid.

If you need to be invited to the Tasks App, contact the host you work with so they can invite you. They should follow the steps here.

⚠️ Teammates and secondary users are different things in Hospitable.

Teammates are your on-the-ground team (cleaners, maintenance, etc.) who use the Tasks App at tasks.hospitable.com to manage assigned task jobs. They do not have access to your Hospitable account.

Secondary users are people you grant access to your Hospitable account at my.hospitable.com. They can see your calendar, settings, and account — not the Tasks App.

If your cleaner needs to see and manage their assigned jobs → invite them as a teammate (this article).

If someone needs access to your Hospitable dashboard and settings → add them as a secondary user instead.

A cleaner or any on-the-ground team member can have access to both the Tasks App and act as a Secondary User. You don't have to choose one or the other, but they do have key differences.

For details about secondary users, see Secondary Users (User Management) and User Management FAQ.

FAQs & Troubleshooting

Tasks App Access Issues

The Tasks App is a separate app where on-the-ground teammates (such as cleaners or maintenance staff) manage assigned task jobs. Teammates access the portal at tasks.hospitable.com/login.

⚠️ Important: Teammates cannot log in to the main Hospitable app at my.hospitable.com. If a teammate tries to sign in there, they will be redirected to use the Tasks App at tasks.hospitable.com/login.

If someone needs access to the main Hospitable app, they should be added as a Secondary User instead.

How Do I Log In to the Tasks App?

The Tasks App uses verification codes to login — there is no password. Log in at tasks.hospitable.com/login.

First-Time Login via Invite

When your host invites you to the Tasks App, you will receive an email with a login link. Click the "Access Hospitable Tasks" button in the invitation email and you will be logged in automatically — no need to enter your email or request a separate verification code.

If you haven't yet been invited, or haven't received the email, follow the steps here.

Returning Login

If you need to log in again after your first session:

  1. Choose whether to use email or SMS.

  2. Enter your email address or phone number.

  3. Click Send verification code.

  4. Check your inbox for the verification email/SMS and enter the code in the portal to sign in.

Verification codes expire after 15 minutes. If the code has expired, go back to the login page and request a new one.

I Did Not Receive the Verification Code Email

  • Check your spam/junk folder for emails from [email protected].

  • Make sure you are entering the same email address your host used when adding you as a teammate.

  • Wait a few minutes and try again.

  • If you continue to have trouble, ask your host to verify your email address under Operations → Teammates in Hospitable. They should resend the invitation.

I Did Not Receive the Verification Code SMS

  • Make sure you are entering the same phone number your host used when adding you as a teammate.

  • Wait a few minutes and try again.

  • If you continue to have trouble, ask your host to verify your phone number under Operations → Teammates in Hospitable. They should resend the invitation.

My teammate changed their email but portal invites still go to the old address

Once a teammate logs into the portal for the first time, they manage their own contact details in the Account section of Hospitable Tasks. However, the email stored on the teammate's profile in your Hospitable account (under Operations → Teammates) is used for sending portal invitations.

If a teammate updated their email in the portal, but invites are still going to their old address:

  1. Go to Operations → Teammates and open the teammate's profile.

  2. Check whether the email listed there matches the teammate's current email.

  3. If the email on the profile is outdated and editable, update it to match the teammate's current email. If it is not editable (because the teammate has already logged in), the teammate should update their email from the Account section in the Tasks App.

  4. After the email is corrected, resend the portal invitation.

⚠️ Known issue: In some cases, the teammate's profile in Hospitable may not automatically sync with the email the teammate sets in the portal. If you've confirmed the emails match, but invites still go to the wrong address, contact [email protected] for assistance.

I can’t sign in. What should I do?

  • Confirm you’re signing in at tasks.hospitable.com/login

  • If you don’t see an invitation or can’t access the portal, contact the host you work with and ask them to resend the invite

What does "Reset Access" do on the teammate profile?

The Reset Access button on a teammate's profile in Hospitable revokes the teammate's current Tasks iCal URL and generates a new one. Use this if you shared the iCal link externally and want to revoke that access.

Reset Access does NOT:

  • Reset the teammate's portal login or verification code

  • Remove the teammate from the portal

  • Change the teammate's email or phone number

If you need to revoke a teammate's portal access entirely, remove them from your teammates list in Operations → Teammates.

I Was Not Invited to the Tasks App

Cleaners and other teammates must be invited to the Tasks App from the Hospitable user's account:

  • Ask the user to go to Operations → Teammates, open your teammate profile, and click Send invite to Tasks App.

  • Once invited, click the link in the invitation email to log in directly.

Where do I see new task requests?

Go to Jobs to see requested task jobs from the host, then choose whether to accept or reject them. If the host has set up notifications for tasks, you’ll also receive those email or SMS notifications as usual.

How do I complete a task and get paid?

The steps to starting and completing a task job, and adding your payout information for hosts that pay you via the portal, can be found here.

I'm a teammate. I can't see the option to add my bank account from the Tasks App.

In order to add your payment details, you'll need to be invited to the portal and log in at tasks.hospitable.com/login.

If you don't see the option to add your payment details from the Tasks App, check with the primary Hospitable user. They will need to follow the steps here to set up payments on their end before the option becomes available in the teammate/tasks portal.

Is there a difference between the Tasks App and the teammate portal?

No. They are the same thing. Teammates access the portal to check their tasks and more.
