How to Delete a Listing or Property

Managing unwanted listings and properties in Hospitable

Written by Pierre-Camille Hamana

When you connect your Vrbo or Airbnb account to Hospitable, we automatically import all detected listings. As a reminder, here's how we define these terms:

  • Listings: Refers to the listings on your booking platforms (e.g., Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, etc.)

  • Properties: Represents the "container" in Hospitable where listings are organized. A property can include multiple listings from different platforms after merging.

How to remove a Listing from Hospitable

Removing an online travel agency's (OTA) listing from Hospitable can be done in two ways:

Unpublishing a listing

If you don't want to do either of these, but don't want the listing active on the OTA channel, you can Unpublish the listing. This can be done for Airbnb, Booking.com, and Vrbo Partner listings.

Muting a listing's property

If you don't want your listing active or visible on Hospitable, you can Mute it.

Muting is done on the property level, so you need to make sure that the listing is housed separately, on its own property, if you don't want to mute any other listings.

How to Remove a Property from Hospitable

Properties cannot be deleted on Hospitable. To remove a property from Hospitable, you will need to Mute it.

Muting a property

You should Mute your property on Hospitable if:

  • You want to exclude that property from Hospitable's services and billing.

  • You don't use and don't plan on using that property on Hospitable.

  • You want to get rid of a duplicate property left over from merging two properties together, or accidentally creating a new property or listing.

  • You want to remove the property from your Properties and Calendar pages.

Hospitable-Only Properties

If you've removed all listings and only the Hospitable listing remains:

  • The property will remain as long as there is a Direct listing for the property.

  • If you wish to remove the property in its entirety, unscope it from all Direct sites/widgets by going to Direct bookings → click on site/widget → properties → uncheck the property → save.

    • If the listing persists after removing it from Direct, reach out to support.

Summary

  • To remove an OTA listing from Hospitable, either delete the listing on the OTA directly or disconnect the OTA from Hospitable.

  • To keep a listing connected but inactive on the OTA, Unpublish it. This is available for Airbnb, Booking.com, and Vrbo Partner listings.

  • To remove a listing from view in Hospitable, Mute its property. Muting applies to the entire property and all listings grouped under it.

  • Properties cannot be deleted from Hospitable. To remove a property from your Properties and Calendar pages and exclude it from Hospitable's services and billing, Mute the property.

  • If only a Hospitable listing remains, the property will remain while it is included on a Direct site or widget. Remove the property from all Direct sites and widgets to remove it entirely.

  • If the property remains after being removed from Direct, contact Hospitable Support.
